Lives up to being the best preserved original stave church.
Ticket office has food available or picnic benches that face the church.

From the outside I wondered whether it was worth paying to go in. Inside one finds a wealth of history and a evocative atmosphere. Don't miss!

My daughter and I took at tour if this church as part of larger tour of Undredal through Fjord Safaris where we also learned about the goat cheese farms there and got to feed the goats as well as taste goat cheeses and have lunch. I loved seeing in this little church as our guide told us so much about what life was like for Norwegians living in the country side. I loved how this little church is so historic, but still in use today. If you have Frozen fans in the family the blue ceiling with tons of little gold stars was copied by Disney artists and used in the Frozen movie. I also loved ebing able to walk around this tiny village full of so many beautiful houses as well as a great cafe right on the fjord.

We were not able to go inside this tiny church (and the private tours were quite pricey, relatively speaking), but from what we can tell, the building was quite altered from the original. Very quaint and picturesque from the outside!

So they didn't realize until recently because of all the remodeling that this was even a stave church. And it takes a bit of imagination to see it in its former glory. A small church still in use it was locked and we had to find the caretaker. The staves are still visable and the church is red.

Great trip to Undredal and a walk to the Stave church from the 1100s. Disappointing it wasn’t open and had no opening times.

Do not make a drive here just to see this church. It is small and was locked when we were there. We stayed in town in a home which was super quaint and had amazing views so it was worth walking up to but you would be disappointed if this was your destination.

This is the smallest Norwegian stave church. Was built around 1150. Difficult to understand how timber building was able to withstand so many centuries of wet summers and cold winters

The beauty of Undredal's Stave Church can not be overstated. The small village has a treasure on its doorstep and I believe they know it too, so very proud of their 12 by 4 metre church which has only 40 seats, making it the smallest stave church still in use in all of Scandinavia. A must see.

This is a beautiful old church that has been in operation for centuries. It was locked so we could only visit the outside and grounds but it was part of a pleasant walk around the town.
