Are you in love? Have you fallen recently in love? Shall you renew your vows of love? If you answered yes, you should definitely visit this private castle. The entry ticket is at your own discretion, even you decide how much you would like to pay ( we donated UA100). This castle is amazing, full of stances to visit, all of them plenty of paintings, it is even older than Polanok castle and you can find amazing stories about Ilona, owner of 24 castles who gave up everything for love....

Castle is a.k.a. the "castle of love"!
The owner got a rent-lease for 49 years, and bit by bit they restore it now. The Ukrainian goverment gave them just 1000 dollars for repairs, a joke ))
The great thing about this castle is that you can still see how it was many years ago as many rooms in the castle are left as it was [or simply have not been restored due to lack of cash]. When I was here they were also making a garden in front of the castle.
If you love visiting castles, go here!!

We joined another group, so we enjoyed the tour in Ukrainian language, so we didn't understand a lot, but nevertheless it was interesting. After the tour we speak to the owner - he can speak Slovak and then it was easy to talk.

The Szentmiklos castle located in a Carpathian village of Chynadiyovo is certainly a must-see for any tourist visiting the region. The abandoned 14th-century castle was saved from oblivion by a Ukrainian family of artists and philanthropists who sold their own house for the cause and since then are doing their best to restore the magnificent medieval fortress. The Bartosh family are really the legend-makers because in just a decade they made the impossible possible having restored over a half of the castle's numerous premises. The spirit of the place is mesmerizing. As you arrive you may join a wonderful and highly professional guided tour. You get to know dramatic history of the place in all its sparkling details.
The sight is truly inspiring. It is really popular with newly-weds, artists and connoisseurs of history. It's a spot of numerous events, exhibitions and concerts run by enthusiasts devoted to the cause of saving the priceless pearl of the Ukrainian history.
The castle is not very large but really inspiring especially for children with its secret passageways, spacious halls, authentic artefacts and enigmatic atmosphere.
It will be wonderful to return there time and time again.

This is very specific place. On one hand, the castle has very ancient history and played significant role for Hungarian people. On second hand, it was abandoned and forgotten last century. So, the most interesting thing about it, are new renters (family) who are very enthusiastic people and they make everything to recover the Castle as the pearl of Zakarpattya region.

This is a very old castle, more like a fortress.
A very atmospheric structure, especially felt inside the building.
While the visit is free, or who will give how much.

The owner (tenant) likes a drink. Hamit the visitors. A very brazen security guard with mats wouldn't let you take a photo on a storm, calling it a lawn.
