    Really fun day at the hacienda!
    This day trip with a group of friends began with an outstanding lunch. My pic chuc was superb as was everything else that others ordered. The tour guide was very good explaining everything in Spanish and English. The hacienda grounds were beautiful and I enjoyed learning about the production of sisal. The cenotes were amazing -- that last cavern was so cool! I also appreciate that the developer was doing everything to be eco-conscious and to protect the cenotes.

    Great visit
    This place is a hidden jewel. The hacienda is beautiful and loved the cenotes, they are the best from all the ones In visited. You need to book a time slot as they have a max capacity but this means your time to enjoy the cenotes is also limited as there is another booking behind you but I do not see another way to preserve them and don’t be crowded as the others we visited. I wouldn’t mind having a bit more time for swimming. The restaurant was also delicious and very authentic.

    my first cenote
    I visited the cenote and it was about 25 miles from the heart of Merida. It was part of a former hacienda/ and Spanish plantation that also a nice visit. The connected cenotes were beautiful and relaxing. The water was the perfect temperature and clear all the way to the bottom.

    Once in a lifetime experience
    Our tour had two parts: a tour of a historical hacienda followed by a swim in two different cenotes. Our guide, Luis Espinoza, gave the tour in both Spanish and English, and he was excellent. Following the tour of the hacienda, including a demonstration of how sisal was traditionally processed, you go to the cenotes. The cool water was the perfect antidote to the hot day. The first cenote was more open and it was like swimming through a tropical paradise. The second cenote is completely enclosed and covered in stalagmites. I would have loved this tour anyway, but the second cenote is far and away one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Highly recommend!

Beautiful.

The cave is absolutely stunning. I will never forget the beauty of this experience. It felt like floating in midair surrounded by crystals. There are sparkling stalactites and stalagmites all around you and they have placed lights under the surface so you can see that it is incredibly deep. Yes, some parts are man-made, but they are also beautiful. The story of how the cave was discovered is so interesting. It was used as a well by the hacienda and locals for centuries until the latest buyer decided to send a scuba diver into the well to see what was there. At one point on the hacienda historical tour segment before the swim you are standing above the well and have no idea the spectacular crystal cave is beneath you and you are about to swim through it. The tour moved along at the perfect pace and I felt it was very professional with just the right amount of people. There was maybe 20 people in our group and our guide spoke in English and Spanish. Some tours are only in Spanish so you have to make sure you schedule and catch the right one, just ask the guide. The restaurant at the pool is lovely and so is the gift shop, which carried some beautiful artisan works. You can tell that this place moves a lot of people through and is very popular with tourists from Mexico as well. But for the amount of people they likely bring through, it is very clean, efficient, and well run. I communicated via What's app for the reservations and our hotel was able to find us a taxi driver from Merida at a good rate to take us for the day after we went to Uxmal. I think he charged us around 37$ for the day and waited at each place. We tipped him quite well because it made for a wonderful and relaxing day to have the ease of our own personal driver and he was very kind. Uxmal early as it opens, and then Hacienda Mucuyche is a lovely day trip from Merida.

Best cenote experience in the Yucatan

We've lived in Yucatan for 12 years and today had the best cenote experience ever. Swimming among stalactities and stalagmites in a dark cenote is an other-world experience. Floating on your back looking at the cave roof 15 feet above as a flashlight beam is passed across it puts you in awe of nature. The hacienda tour was one of the most informative we've experienced. A enjoyed lunch along side the large swimming pool.

One of the highlights of our trip!

We visited on Dec. 23rd. Our tour started at 11:30 and we met our tour guide at the picnic table near the entrance. We took a short tour of the hacienda, then headed to the changing area to get ready for the cenotes.

I took my things over to the locker area (which consisted of several large rented bags with padlocks on shelves) and was told I was supposed to have bought a ticket for a padlock bag at the entrance. We didn't have enough time, so I asked the woman what I was supposed to do. She said, "don't worry, I'll watch your stuff for you" and she did! No problems whatsoever (although if I could go back in time I'd ask about the locker/padlock ticket at check in just to avoid the worry.)

The cenote tour was amazing. We walked down the Empress Carlotta's steps to the first cenote. Then we passed through the tunnel with waterfall to the area where we climbed out to get ready for the next cenote. We were instructed to remain silent as we entered the second cenote. We were all blown away by the amazing beauty of this underground cave! It was 60 ft deep in some places, but lit in such an interesting way we could see below us and up above.

When we exited, we toweled off (all of our stuff was safe and sound!) and went over to the restaurant/pool area. We had traditional margaritas with chava (ground spinach-like greens) and ate amazing delicious food. The prices were pretty average for the area, not expensive at all. Our 13 and 16 year olds loved the pool.

As we were sitting at the poolside restaurant, someone came over and showed us the cenote pictures they had taken. She offered to airdrop them to us for around $15. They were amazing pictures. I took her up on the offer and am so glad I did.

It was one of our favorite days of the trip. Well worth the price of admission. Would definitely recommend it to anyone, but especially parents of teens. We all loved it!

Plan to stay for a half a day.

We three older adults were ready for adventure, and experienced with other cenotes. This was the most expensive cenote we've visited (599 pesos), but its other attractions made it well worth it for us. The hacienda (17th C.) tour was informative and interesting with an knowledgeable and friendly guide (Luis), and the hacienda ruins amidst the jungle and fruit orchards were a delight for us amateur photographers. The cenotes are the clearest I've experienced, and the second one is unsurpassed with its staglamites and stalactites. Amenities for changing clothes, storage, and showering were excellent. We chose to stay for lunch at poolside and the food and drinks were well prepared and very tasty. After lunch we swam again in their large pool (about 2-5 feet deep). Cooling off, we hung out in the gorgeous terrain for even longer. There's no pressure to get "in and out", so if you have the time, take it!

Worth the visit

This is a great place to visit if you go and see the Maya ruins at Uxmal. It's not more than a 30 minute drive from there.

We had tried to visit this place a couple of years ago and it was just closing when we arrived so when we came back to Merida we made sure we got there eairly.

WARNING - you need a reservation to go here. You just can't stop by.

We went in Jan 2021 and they require masks (not in the water) check your temp and make you walk through a mister to de-con you before they allow you in.

You have to go on a group tour of the hacienda if you drive yourself and you will be in a group when you go into the cenote.

So the hacienda tour is good and takes about 30 mins.
For the cenote, you have to shower before they let you in the water.

The have change the cenote some from what was there originally but with all of the plants/jungle its a fun trip. The last part of the cenote is in a cave with lots of stalagetites and stagmites. Some kids may freak out a bit but its really worth the time to check out the last part of the cave.

Very well organized and they have a pool to swim in after and a place to eat as well as a changing room.

Best experience of my life

One of the best experience in Mexico. Swimming in a cenote is breathtaking and a huge must have.
It starting with a tour around the hacienda, our tourguide was funny and told the history really interesting.
After, the swimming is 1-1.5 hour, he explained a lot of things about cenotes and dropstones.
Im afraid of deep water but even for me was an amazing and well worth moment in my life.

Beautiful cenote-cave, worth the experience

The tour begins with a guided tour of the remaining buildings of the hacienda. Even though they are ruins, I really liked them. The girl leading the tour was good and spoke English well, but you could tell she was in a big hurry to finish. The highlight is swimming in the cenotes. The first is semi-open and is nothing special, there are many others like it. This is connected to the second cenote with a recently built artificial canal which is aesthetically very beautiful. The second cenote is a cave and it's really crazy!!! You bathe in a cave between stalactites and stalagmites and it was a wonderful experience! The fact that the tour is guided means that even when you swim in the cenotes there aren't too many of you (as happens in many cenotes in the Yucatan). In the end we stopped to eat at the bar and it was all very good, and for a swim in the pool. Overall, I recommend the experience, even if the price is high (35 euros per person for entry).

Very worth a visit. The property is very nice, the 2 cenotes are stunning. You need to book in advance. First there is an hour tour through the hacienda and than you can go to swimm. We booked the English tour and paid full price - which was quite much by the way - but our tour was in Spanish. The guide said every 5 minutes 1 sentence in English, otherwise he spoke all time only Spanish. However we went there because of the Cenotes, so I would skip the 1 hour tour and go straight to swimming :) We had lunch at the restaurant, I can only recommend it. The food was very tasty, but please translate the menü to English.

This by far is the best cenote to visit

We went to about 3 cenotes when on visit to Merida and this by far was our favorite. You got to the see history of the hacienda and then with tour guide swam thru a beautiful canal to get to the main cenote. They have one underground and half carved above ground. Really a treat and when done, you had a option to eat/drink in the bar/restaurant and also use the pool. It was nice they had a little shop nearby to purchase articles and also drive of pictures they took. Recommend you bring swim shoes, plastic bag/wallet for your phone.

Outstanding experience

If you want to fully understand why the ancient Mayans thought the cenotes were the entrace to the underworld, this is the place. Absolutely stunning cenotes in a carefully preserved setting. The experience includes a guided tour to the ruins of a hacienda, and there is a very good restaurant with a swimming pool. Before going I thought the entrace fee was expensive (650 MXN)/person, but it is worth it.
