The wonderful guide and boat captain took us through parts of the Tarcoles river. They pointed out many different species of birds, along with some monkeys and lizards. The crocodiles here are amazing with the males being really huge!! The captain got us REALLY close to several of them..so awesome! At one point the captain turned of the engine and... More

We had a wonderful, relaxing tour on the river with a knowledgable guide. The bird identification pamphlet was very helpful, and the guide pointed out over 17 different species of birds, including the wonderful Boat-Billed Heron. We saw plenty of crocodiles and pulled up very close to some. There's no danger--the boat is big and the crocodiles stay in the... More

We came here with a school group and spent over an hour on the river seeing all sorts of animals, not just crocodiles. Our regular tour guide worked with a boat driver from the crocodile safari to make it a great experience for us. The driver had an amazing ability to spot wildlife on the riverbanks, no matter how well... More

This is a relaxing tour. I would suggest taking this tour earlier in the day to beat the heat. We received a great bird identification guide pamphlet that I will keep for future use. We didn't see as much wildlife as in other tours because of the heat of the day. We saw cranes and gators. What made the trip... More

Don't call them alligators! Alligators are tadpoles compared to these guys. Saw several 13-14 footers. Even saw the infamously hard to find Osama Bin Laden croc (he is hard too... nevermind). Osama measures b/t 16-17 feet. And if you are lucky, you'll see Mike Tyson. They have even found a 24 ft croc in the Tarcoles River. Lots of beautiful... More

With a superb guide, we had a lovely trip up and down the river. Not only were there many sightings of crocodiles, which was very exciting, but lots of different exotic birds (we had been given a bird spotting guide). We could hear scarlet macaws but didn't manage to see any. Also spider monkeys, heard but not seen. The trip... More

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that likes wildlife and is interested in seeing crocodiles. In addition to seeing the crocodiles, we saw many birds and were given a little booklet that had the types of birds we saw.

I was staying in the area and came across this crocodile boat tour. The guide was awesome! The info about them was fascinating and and we also saw lots of birds, horses, and cows. The guides get out and touch the crocs, feed them to make for great pics. The crocodiles seem docile bc boat tours are done all day... More

Hi Catherine, Thank you for rating us. However, I am afraid you took the tour with another company because we do not feed the crocodiles as it is prohibited by law # 7317 Wildlife Conservation. We hope you come and visit us the next time! Regards, Jungle Crocodile Safari & Bird Watching Tour More

It seemed as if the trip was very short, especially in comparison to the Rio Frio River Cruise that we had taken. If this had been the only boat tour I had taken, perhaps I would have been more impressed. Our guide spoke excellent English and seemed to know local wildlife, but the trip felt very rushed.

Hi travelingmom54, Our trips last around 2 hours which is the accurate time to go up the river where you can spot Crocodiles and different bird species and then go down the river to its mouth and the mangroves where you can see more of Tarcoles river wildlife. However, if by any chance we did not meet the itinerary, please... More
