Great place for pictures we took the public transportation from Guanajuato and it cost us like around 2.50 dlls for 2 persons there is a lot of ways to get there you can get a private tour but the only thing we didn’t like is that is at 4 pm we like to go early that’s why we took public transportation if you are really ready for a really humble ride it’s an adventure same bus will wait for you for almost 45 minutes before he goes back to Guanajuato the view amazing and the food in the little food places it’s a delight of authentic Mexican food

It was a little bit of a ride from Guanajuato but the majority of it is in the country side. You get a good look at the real Mexico country as the road goes up the mountain. The views from the top of the mountain are absolutely stunning. Incredible location for the tribute to Cristo Rey.

Decent drive. Get there as early as possible to avoid congestion. Mass is done hourly. Outside mass is at noon on Sundays. Very spiritual.

Traveled up alone while here on business. The road is very rough going up with a cobblestone surface but the view is awesome. The height increase from Silao was half a mile. I came up very early on a Saturday so no crowds. The monument is a must see if you are in the area. Very inspirational. Go up on a clear day.

I remember my trip up to Cerro Del cubilete like it was just yesterday ... Once when your up there , one can feel the energy of the holly Sprit all around you while your up there ... I have a few things that I’m thankful for and I can’t wait to go up there again and , share it with our father in Heaven ...

It is located on geographic center of Mexico on top of "El Cubilete" Hill 2600 meters over sea level. It was built during "La Cristiada" when catholic people was persecuted by Mexican Government just because of their believes.

This is a nice stop whether religious or not. The drive is picturesque and there are many food and shopping stands on the way up with authentic local food and artisan crafts. The view is beautiful from above and there are a couple of churches and chapels on the way as well. The monument is considered the literal center of the country. Historically this was built after the original one was demolished during the Cristiada, an interesting and hidden part of Mexican history when Catholics were oppressed. A definite stop if you are in the area.

I believe It’s the second highest mountain in Mexico and South America, if you google this place you will see the description, therefore is highest position than the monument In Brasil.
Once your at the bottom it will take you about 20 minutes to drive all the way up.
I recommend for you to go around 9 am no earlier than that because it’s foggy and dangerous to drive around.

I went to Guanajuato and visit "El Cerro del Cubilete". i was a year ago in the summer. The experience I lived was incredible, in each of its corners The environment is friendly and there is much tranquility. The food is very good, there is a lot of variety, the people who attend you is very sociable and very respectful. I recommend that you go visiting and that live the same experience I saw!

Gracias.
