We stopped here early in the morning on a Monday to look for fossils! We found a couple, and it was nice to have the beach to ourselves for a while. A few fishermen came down towards the end of our time there. The fossils...More

Truly a hidden gem. I visited and watched the tide go out. Got to walk around where just moments earlier there was tide. You could spend hours seeing incredible fossils of plant life embedded forever in the rocks. I was fortunate enough to have the...More

Decided to try and explore this beach. You for sure can only visit it at low tide. There are supposed to be lots of fossils in the rocks but we were not so successful finding any. If the museum was open like It was Supposed...More

This is a great little beach for those who are particularly interested in rocks and nature. We went when the tide was out and it was perfect for exploring for rocky treasures. There is a well-beaten path from the parking area down to the beach...More

Here is one of those little treasure you'll find in Nova Scotia. This is a quiet beach area that is loaded with fossils due to its geographical area. You won't find a lot of people here so you can stroll the beach, head down, looking...More

We visited the beach at high tide and at low tide. It was truly amazing to see the difference. It was peaceful and quite when we went. It is a little tricky going down to the beach but once there it is beautiful.

I recently went to this beach, although it was offseason. The Fossil museum was closed and the tide was in, so I did not get the full experience. Even with those small disappointments I still found an amazing fossil (see photo) and the view was...More

When the tide is in there is very little beach to wander and search for fossils. It is still a pleasant place to visit even when the tide is in. Nice short walk through the woods to get there. Gentleman at the museum is very...More

The museum keeper happily guided us along a personal tour of the museum, like a class in paleontology. Then, after we had a great time hunting for fossils down at the beach, he helped identify and explain some of our finds: jumbled tracks of burrowing...More

The museum, located at the left of the parking spot, contains loads of fossiles, gathered on the nearby beach. The collector, who gathered these items during the past 17 years, gave us a tour in the museum, and told us lots of interesting historic facts...More

The walk is pretty far. I don't remember the exact length. It's hilly and the part of the end is a bit steep. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the walk for anyone who has difficulty walking.
