Located in a quiet community, Tešanj Castle is another gem of rich history found in this part of the world.

Originally built by Illirians, then rebuilt and expanded by Romans, Slavs, and Ottomans, this cast, the fort was important point throughout the ages. This castle is one of the biggest in Bosnia, and is also very well kept. There is a small museum featuring the items explaining history of castle and surrounding area.

Once you are done with castle, make sure to enjoy coffee or a drink in one of many bars and restaurants located nearby. You will definitely enjoy the experience...

For only 2KM (=€1) you can visit the castle. The ticket of the entrance is also a postcard. The lady at the entrance is very friendly.

The castle is beautifull. On the top you can sit, watch the view and picnic. There is also a nice couch from the factory Lockwood!

The view is amazing! Enjoy!

Tesanj castle is one of the largest and most important Bosnian castles. It contains a well presented museum area with exhibits like Ottoman Turkish flag from the Battle of Mohacs, as well as presentation of history of Tesanj from 19th and 20th centuries including its major personalities such as the mayor Hamdibey Ajanovic and famous politician Zijad-bey Djonlagic. One can also take part in different activities such as archery

Tesanj castle is a castle in ruins (built before 15th century) located in the town called Tesanj, in the north part of Bosnia&Herzegovine. It is located at the top of the hill and the ruins are very big. In fact, you can enter to the castle and visit all parts of it. Moreover, from here you can see beautiful views of the region and the town. A recommendable visit if you travel to this part of the country.
