Warm welcome and excellent cake

We live locally, and have often passed by - promising to stop by.....and I'm so pleased we did. The building has a tranquility about it and I can see why it became a place of sanctuary in the 13th century. And, best of all we were warmly welcomed with a cup of tea and the most excellent coffee cake....the fact that the parish, of only 50 or so souls, make the time and effort to provide this is testament to the sanctity humanity...do go if you have the opportunity......

A sacred building resonating with the prayers and love of centuries of worshippers.

At one time this Norman church was a Benedictine Priory established in 1183 and dedicated
to St James. However the site was originally dedicated by the Saxons to St Ciwa, hence the name Llan (Church of) Ciwa now pronounced Llangua.
The church has no electricity so services are by candlelight adding to the wonderful atmosphere at regular services and concerts.
If you would like to visit the church there is a telephone number by the gate for you to ring and gain access. More details can be found on the Church of England website for the Ewyas Harold group of churches.
