Really cool!
Aug 2020
The Zalaszántó Stupa is one of the largest such facilities in Europe. The sanctuary was built in 1992 on the Kovácsi hill near Zalaszántó, in the middle of a forest. The snow-white structure is 30 m high and 24 m wide. You can't even get inside the sanctuary. The stupa looks really nice and the surrounding area is very peaceful.
The road is in a very bad condition.
Worth visiting!

VERY PEACEFUL LOCATION
Sep 2019
This Buddhist temple, which is the largest Buddhist temple in Europe, is set in a remote and peaceful location. The temple itself requires work on it as looks in need of TLC with the paint crumbling, We read that money has been allocated to do work on the dome like structure. When visiting the site do not miss the meditation centre which is a building you would pass on your way in. It is a beautiful and serene environment to meditate and pray.

Awesome

The stupa stands on a lonely hill in a desolated place. It's a nice hike to get there but it's totally worth it. Very beautiful and it makes you come to rest because its so secluded. Recommended.

Beautiful and peaceful
Jun 2016 • Couples
This is awesome and very peaceful place on the top of the hill near Zalaszanto. You have to visit if you are in Heviz or Keszthely and you like this kind of places. Stupa is the largest in Europe (30 m), around it there are benches where you can take a rest.

Near stupa there are also few gift shops and a meditation centre.

If you go by car, don't use google maps navigation, because it takes you to the wrong side of the hill and parking near stupa is only accessible by 4x4 terrain vehicle or enduro motorcycle. When you arrive to Zalaszanto follow the main road through the village and when you exit the village you will see tarmac road on the left. It is OK enough to go there with a normal car.

Beautiful Stupa
Aug 2015 • Couples
Nice and quiet surrounding up the hill. A golden Buddha statue is located in he Stupa. It is the biggest Stupa in Europe and the Dali Lama have visited it.
It is a really good walk through nature up to the highest point. There are stairs but the Stupa is also easy accessible by car. A space for meditation is situated next to the temple.
