Nice hike and impressive waterfall
Aug 2020
This is a pleasant hike, especially in the heat of summer, as it is in tree cover all the way. The path is rocky in places and not suitable for pushchairs.
You can go right up to the waterfall (you can stand under it if your brave/nuts).

Really good walk for small kids
Jul 2019 • Family
I visited the place in July with 2 kids aged 2 and 4.
We aimed to reduce the distance for them so parked at farthest possible place - chata Fatranka (beware, google maps shows you correct location but some other maps were misleading) and paid 2.5 eur for the pleasure ;)
The route starts as asphalf road until chata Vodopad and continues as stony forest trail afterwards. It took us perhaps 2-2.5h up and 1h down (the storm was coming so we run a bit), 4yo did it easily, 2yo had to be carried a bit esp. In upper section as her little feet coped with difficulties with loose stones on the road to say nothing of a few wooden ladders across the stream. I have seen on the internet people recommending this as a pram stroll but I would not risk that above chata Vodopad - too rough.
The walk I would definitely reccommend - nice shady forest, stream all the way nearby, butterflies in abundance. The waterfall is really beautiful.
On the minus side - it gets a bit crowded so slim chances in July for a lonely sit in front of the waterfall.
We also tried 2 chata's for food:
At chata Vodopad we had garlic soup which was a shame really - tasted like instant one with bread croutons and that's all - and halushki with bryndza cheese and this was ok.
At chata Fatranka we only had beverages and poppy seed and apple strudel - this was nice. There don"t seem to be a toilet there but then i did not ask so maybe they hide it well.
