If you are in the town, you should visit this monestry. This particular one is popular, worldwide, with its power on vows... It is believed that when your wish comes true, you have to turn back to the monestry once again for another visit. If you have the chance, just light a candle...

Moving and Beautiful

People go because they have read about the miraculous black icon. There is so much more to appreciate in this beautiful church. First the feeling, it is peaceful, one can experience both the quiet and the beauty. The longer one lingers, the more there is to apprehend. Detail after detail impresses itself on the viewer.

As Trip Advisor does not seem to allow reviews for two other sites, I will give them here. First is the sweet 12c. Byzantine church of Pangia Troullouti, which contains many exquisite icons; the other, very different ,charming site is the seaside resort village Skala Sikamininas. This is one of those places it is hard to reveal, because you will want to save it for yourself.

The Monastery of Archangel Michael is an inspiring and beautiful complex. The church itself is stunningly complex. The rest of the property is tranquil.

This is one of the more popular monasteries in Mytlini, partly because of the miracles attributed to the Archangel. They also have a nice little cafeteria and nice tables to sit in peace. Try the loukoumades!

Great monastery of Archagellos Michail and Taxiarhis.About 3 km out of Madamados village you can find and feel the faith of the orthodox religion.

For some reason this monastery in Mandamados has always given me goosebumps and I love returning. The entry, the icons, the painted ceilings, the candles, the gifts displayed all imbue a deep profound and ageless sanctity. The archangel Michael with his sword protecting us in our battles, physical and emotional.
