Beautiful gardens
Aug 2019 • Family
A fairytale castle set in beautiful grounds. The gardens are very old, full of huge, mature trees of all kinds, some very unusual. A really peaceful place, so relaxing to walk around. A place to chill and be at one with nature. We were a group of two families with a teen and a pre-school child, all enjoyed it.

Lovely castle
May 2019 • Family
The castle is super beautiful, and its grounds very well maintained. A lovely place to spend an hour or two on a Spring/Summer day. They even have a special your for young kids, much shorter. Perfect if you would like to offer your little ones a bit of extra cultural experience.

Interesting
Dec 2018 • Couples
We normally come to Prague for a week over Christmas and are always looking out for new things to see. This year we visited Castle Sychrov for the day.

Whilst it’s not one of the must see sights of Prague it is well worth visiting. A private transfer from Prague Airport Taxis cost us CZK 1900 plus CZK 220 per hour waiting time at the castle itself.

Tours in English weren’t available over Christmas so we had t take a tour in Czech. This wasn’t a problem as we were able to buy (CZK 20 each) English texts of the tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our and would quite happily recommend it to anyone else looking for a day outside Prague.

Boring tour
Aug 2018 • Couples
The castle itself and the park are amazing and very well maintained, but I found the guide unfriendly and the tour very boring. It was all about historical facts and explanation of what we can see. No enthusiasm form the guide side, neither any information about life at the castle or about owners personality and interaction with locals so one could understand how important the castle and their owners were for the area.

English tours are not available. We had to buy brochure additionally to already quite expansive entrance fee. What saved us from total disappointment was the café in the former orangery with their excellent chocolate cheese cake.

Plan to be Amazed

This castle is well worth visiting if you are anywhere nearby. The grounds are simply delightful. The castle is beautifully furnished so that it looks like the residents have just recently left. Each room has an unique ceiling. Photos are allowed. We had the fortune of attending a lovely performance of a violist and pianist.

Beautiful acoustics and great meal!
Dec 2017 • Family
We enjoyed a beautiful tour of the Castle. The . History of the family is very interesting. We then had a concert by a pianist and violin player who were terrific. It was amazing to think I was listening to classical music in a place that Mozart Rehearsed.

Incredible woodwork!

The woodwork in the Chateau is breath taking! Well worth the drive to see that alone! Beautiful! Wish we had had more time to absorb it all.
