The castle itself and the park are amazing and very well maintained, but I found the guide unfriendly and the tour very boring. It was all about historical facts and explanation of what we can see. No enthusiasm form the guide side, neither any information...More

We've visited this castle with our friends. It's really beautiful castle with interesting history, nice gardens and nice interier. Photographing inside of castle was restricted, we could took a pictures just in last quater of tour of castle. It is a shame.

The woodwork in the Chateau is breath taking! Well worth the drive to see that alone! Beautiful! Wish we had had more time to absorb it all.

Sychrov is about an hour from Prague and so worth the trip! Just beautiful. The tours are in Czech with an English handout. Tour guides have been so friendly and try their best to answer question even when they speak very little English.

I was in a tour group which included a dinner so I don't know the cost of a tour. It is definitely a lovely drive and exquisite Castle to see.

Sychrov Castle worth the time/money? (1 Reply)
One of the optional tours on our trip (for $60 per person) is a tour of Sychrov Castle including organ concert in the castle chapel and dinner in the Baroque Salon. Is it worth the time and money or can we do it on our own in less than 1/2 day and dine at restaurant of our choosing? Thanks.

Sychrov is quite far away - how would you get there? It is a big castle with a nice garden and falconry. With restaurants in Sychrov I can not help.

Kunta Hora, Konopiste Castle or Sychrov Castle ? (5 Replies)
If there is only time for one, would you recommend Kunta Hora, Konopiste Castle or Sychrov Castle. We leave in 3 days, so would appreciate a recommendation. Thanks

Thanks for the info. I thought I read a review that Karlstein was not recommended. Our tour company goes to Syhrov Castle, but charges a lot for the tour. Since they are all relatively the same travel time, which would you think is the most interesting for a tourist to see?
