About
Welcome to Hill River Wines, formerly Jaeschke’s Hill River Clare Estate Cellar Door, Vineyard and Farm. Hill River Wines is a single vineyard located in the famous Polish Hill River Valley, 6kms South-East of Clare. Hill River Wines is very much a family operation. We have been broad-acre farming in the Hill River Valley since 1963 and, in May 2010, purchased the neighbouring vineyard, originally named Penfolds Clare Estate. Our successful integration of the vineyard into our farming operation has enabled us to share with our customers the outstanding award-winning wines produced from the Polish Hill River Valley at our Cellar Door. Come and relax on the deck overlooking the dam and enjoy the views of the vineyards at our Cellar Door for a wine tasting. You can find us over the Hill at 406 Quarry Road, Polish Hill River We hope to see you soon!

The wines are lovely and Heather poring the wine was so nice. We called in for a quick tasting and stayed much longer than planned. This is a great cellar door with a beautiful outlook. Thanks for looking after us and we bought wine to take home.

Went for a wine taste and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Lady there had loads of wine knowledge and great tips on where to eat etc.
Service was great lady who did tasting was friendly and funny made the experience good.

A little more out of the way for the Clare Valley. But well worth visiting. A nice venue in a lovely setting, good wine at most reasonable prices. Very friendly as well.

A beautiful winery with a gorgeous cosy cellar door, overlooking an outdoor patio area with seating and a beautiful pond. Jodie was fantastic on cellar door, very friendly, knowledgeable and gave us a great selection of delicious wines to taste.

Great wines, very reasonably priced and really friendly, knowledgeable service at the cellar door. Had a fab time tasting some great rieslings and the commemorative ruby was yummy! Highly recommended.

What a stunning location, great wines and friendly staff.
We have three young boys who were sick of us wine tasting before we got there - they were so very happy and entertained within minutes. The staff gave them activity packs and lollies. There is a great selection of outdoor games, sandpit, golf, all sorts! So much to do, which left us relaxed to taste. The only shame was that we had lunch booked so couldn’t stay all day for a picnic.
The wines are all delicious, including some rare varietals.
We loved our visit and will be recommending to anyone visiting the Clare Valley.

We spent a really memorable afternoon here with our 5 year old. The wines are absolutely gorgeous, I particularly loved the reislings and the sangiovese is a knockout! The cellar door staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. The location on the lake surrounded by vines is picture perfect. Perhaps best of all for us was all the games and toys for kids. They have a sand pit, board games, lawn toys (bocce, coits, giant jenga etc) and gave our daughter an activity pack to play with. She loved the afternoon and we loved it too. Would absolutely come again!
