On a south-east windy day, we tried to find a well sheltered beach and we decide to try for the Salonikios Beach.
It was not to easy to find the unpaved access road toward this beach and we missed it for the first time. We went back and realized that you have to turn 90 degrees right on a dirt road just before a “Thassos Oil” gas station (coming from Potos).
Following some wood painted signs, after 3 km, you will arrive at Salonikios Beach.
The beach is not very crowded due to this access rod and I had the impression that is included mostly on the “safari tours” organized with 4x4 cars.
There are a few improvised sunbeds and large canvas for shadow, but most of the tourist are coming with their own umbrellas and camping gear.
This beach is good for snorkeling, and from what I saw it is also good for the spear fishing fans.
We stayed on the beach 4-5 hours and we went for snorkeling on both sides of the beach. The overall snorkeling score (in accordance with my appreciation scale) is 3.5 (from 5). The right side is more interesting as underwater landscape than the left part of the beach.
There is a small beach bar from were you can buy drinks and also some fast food.
I assume that in the high season this beach is more crowdie than we found it in mid-September. I think that mainly in the high season, if you will not find a place to stay on Psili Ammos beach or you are looking for a more remote beach, you can try for Salonikios Beach.

Nice and quiet beach, not crowded. Road is unpaved, you need to be a good driver or have a 4x4. We had our own umbrellas so we did not rent sunbeds. Water is very clear, good for snorkeling.

We went to Salonikios on a day we were looking for a calm place around Astrida and some local people suggested us to go there. The road down the beach is quiet unorganized and it might get dangerous if your car is not strong enough. This is one of the reasons why the beach is calmer than the others nearby. There are a couple of nice sunbeds on the beach - we used our own umbrellas and sunchairs but as I can remember it was around 10 euros. There is a bar, you can have non alchololic cocktails, beer, frappe anything from there. They also have salad and barbecue available . As I can remember, there were no shower available here. The beach is quiet sandy and not too tiny, you have quiet a space between the other visitors. Some boats visit here during the day, but they usually stay far from the beach-so it is a good and calm spot. We went to Giola after this place as it is just 10 minute drive. So I would recommend this place if you are looking for a calm-beach-hopping day, Salonikios might be a good first point!

I really enjoy this beach. The cost for two sunbeds is 10 euro, it is not crowded and there is a bar beach where you can have drinks and the best souvlaki.
I recommand to stay until the sunset moment. It is an amazing view, which takes your breath away. The sun sets into the sea❤️

The most amazing beach in Thasos! A small and quite beach surrounded by pine trees and with eco friendly cantina and wooden sun beds. Crystal clear waters are also part of it!

The place is very nice but the service is bad. There is a lady at the bar which is very rude with the clients.

Road to Salonikious was very bad and dangerous for your car but at the end of it you are in heaven. I agree on the critics about the shop and the attitude of the guys but I don’t care too much .

This beach is very very nice and is not very popular for tourist because of the position and the hard way until there.
It is good for snoerkeling .
On the beach are some beach chairs made from pallets, hammocks and small tables.
The beach is in front of a small Pine forest.
On the hill is a small caravan where you can buy cold drinks. The prices are small(2,5-5 euro) for drinks. They also cook on a Charcoal grill souvlaki around 12:00-13:00 o'clock each day.
The staff is nice and polite.
They also play some soft rock and nice music all the day.
They ask you to sit where ever you want fot to buy from them drnks and food for 10 euro.
I think si perfect normal and the fee is cheap.
The place is safe for tourists and is good for families too.

The place is great. Part of the road to the beach is unpaved but ok. The guy in charge sucks though. He charges 5 euros per person for the sunbeds ( which are really like a bed with covering) , drinks not included despite the sign that says " we are happy to shade you as long as you drink", a policy frequently seen in Greece.
I would not revisit.

We went twice to this beach because we loved the atmosphere of a not so crowded beach. At around 12:00 pm a boat arrives and some tourists come to the shore, but they stay just for an hour or something like that.
You can rent 2 sunbeds (if you order the equivalent of 10 euros) or you can rent something like a lounge chair for 2 persons (if you order the equivalent of 5 euros).
At the bar they have coffee, tea, juices, beer, smoothies, cocktails, some toasted sandwiches and greek salad.
They also make a grill at around 13:00 pm.
If you want to go snorkeling, the underwater landscape is interesting and you can see a lot of jellyfish, really big and beautiful ones, starfish, hermit crabs, a lot of beautiful fish.
Along the rocks are some sea urchins but you don't need special shoes if you don't go near the rocks.
To reach the beach you have to drive through a pine forest and rough terrain but I assure you it will be worth the struggle.
