We had a lovely time here, walking the dogs, skimming stones, having a picnic and getting an ice cream. The miniature steam train is a nice little attraction too. We've been a number of times - just beware the weather if you're at the far...More

This is such a pretty place. We were on the sunny side in the afternoon and chose to return to the hotel the same way to keep out of the shade. Would like to return to complete the walk behind the holiday homes on the...More

Park in the light railway station just under the bridge on the left for free, if you go to the cafe you will have to pay. Nice walk around the lake but you do have no view at the top end of the lake, but...More

Fantastic place to visit with the family, scenery is so beautiful and walking around the lake on a sunny day is wonderful.

Ideal if you have a boat on the lake. There were no trips when we were there. Good size lake and would suit a good walker to go around it. Not much more.

The lake is great for walking around, however if you want to walk all the way around you will need to be aware that the second half of the walk doesn't really go near the lake. There is a lovely cafe and you can take...More

Lovely walk around the lake (about 4.5 miles I think). Great scenery and marked well to follow the route around the lake. We walked from the cafe, across the dam wall and then tuned left to follow the railway line, to its end and then...More

This is a beautiful place and well worth a visit. We went on a boat trip around the lake and also went on the train which runs alongside the water. The facilities are good. The only problem is parking can be difficult. Recommend.

Took the miss here for a picnic and she loved sitting by the lake and having a few drinks with some food. Beautifully romantic and she was impressed.

I saw adults swimming in the lake during our stay at Rudyard Lake too but there are no lifeguards so guess if you go in it's at your own risk.

Hi, not at the time we were there, but there are a lot of trees so I should think if you went walking there would be. Avon, skin so soft, does the trick. Good enough for the marines.
