The Cathedral has a copy of one of the most impressive relics of the Catholic Church the shroud of 'Turin' on display. Having visited the church in Turin where the actual shroud was and not having been able to see anything, that is very much...More

The cathedral has an interesting interior, with colourful stained-glass and very expertly-done trompe-l'œil painted 'carved stonework' on the ceilings. It used to be the home of the Turin shroud, and they have an exhibition about it (in French), and a full-sized photographic replica behind the...More

This church has a lot of history, and it is truly beautiful. It is certainly worth a visit and most importantly - it is located very central.

I have visited this cathedral once with a guide and since then I take other people there when visiting Chambery. The Trompe L'oeil paintings are astonishing: unless somebody points it out to you, you won't realize that those are paintings.

Although this is a rather small cathedral we love this place and already visited it several times. The "trompe l'œil " Italian style decoration is unique . You will be surprised, it takes a while before your brain understands!

A very calming place with gentle music playing on the day we visited. Look up and prepare to be amazed by the trompe l'oeil!

The trompe l'oeuil was quite unexpected and impressive. As it was a stopover on the way to Turin we were very interested to learn of the shroud's stay here and in fact there was far more information that we saw in the Turin Cathedral in...More
