Highly recommend been here on a Sunday brilliant still a lot of people but not too busy nice views nice bulz and sausages and cheese and sweets yum 6 degrees outside snow was a perfect Sunday spent in fresh air.

One of my dream was to visit this road. Is breathtaking.lucky us because there was snow and we had amazing view. After we saw Transfagarasan we went to see Transalpina and was better.

Breathtaking views! We didn't know what to expect besides the twisting and turning of the road. The views were spectacular! Its definitely a road like no other. It is dangerous if you are not paying attention. Just be on the look out for other cars...More

I'd rented a car for 6 days in Romania for self touring and drove the Transfagarasan Highway. Amazing! Beware of possible animal herds ! Sheep, cows and pigs - no kidding. Nice views along the way and plenty of places to pull off to safety...More

The highway is fantastic. We had a fantastic day. Recommend Grey Line (Mr Trip) for a quality tour. Almost the end of the season. The road closes in winter.

Nice motorbike-ride and for sure with the Transalpina together the most exciting route in Romania. But honestly, there are at least 100 much more spectacular routes in Europe

Hi, the road is closed until July. Go to Cârțişoara and take the cable car to the top.

hi, the road opens in July. Go to Cartisoara and from there take the cablecar to the top. You'll see only the north part of the road/mountain. maybe you'll find the tunnel open and cross it by foot to the south side. Enjoy... More
