We did a trip with the boat on a Sunday. The boat passes the confluence of Soca and Idrijca river and continues to the dam of the electric power plant. It is an interesting look into a hidden (at least for cars) part of the Soca valley.
The really great phenomena is the captain of the boat. He was telling stories in three different languages (there were Slovenians, Italiens and us on board) providing interesting insights but also some (probably?) fairy tells as amusement for kids and adults.
We really recommend it and even in case of a rainy afternoon it is a nice trip providing good mood.

A beautiful experience on the emerald-colored Isonzo artificial lake. The captain was an excellent master of the vessel. It entertained adults and children alike. An experience not to be missed for anyone passing through Tolmin and Most na Sochi.

This boat cruise is surely one of the main highlights when you are in the Soča/Isonzo valley in Slovenia. There are no tickets to buy before the scheduled cruise, you just go up in the boat and pay after the cruise. You can also eat a lunch up there during the cruise (on normal costs for this region) as there it is also a kitchen to prepare food (suitable to all, there are also some vegetarian dishes on the menu to order). There are two possible ways of a cruise (one to the Tolmin side and one to the Most na Soči and hydroelectric station Doblar side). If you eat a lunch, you have a free second cruise on the other side (tickets for adults cost 6,5 €, for kids less). For one side a cruise last 1 hour, so for both side it takes around 2 hours. Therefore, make sure to have at least 2,5 or 3 hours time if you want to do both sides.

Cruise is stunning as nature around there is beautiful and captain on the boat Lucija tells nice stories (folk tales of some spots near the river Soča, especially one with Lucija and dragon) and atmosphere is good as people can also be captains for a minute. The River Soča here is peaceful and not as rapid as it is in Bovec and Trenta and in the middle of the ride you can see the confluence of Soča and Idrijca rivers. I cruised on the Most na Soči side and saw some nice train bridges (from Bohinj line, made around 100 years ago like famous viaducts of nearby Bača pri Modreju and Solkan bridge near Nova Gorica), Most na Soči village from the river side, hydroelectric station Doblar, a little cave and at the beginning also one cavern from the First World War (from Battles of Isonzo). It was surely memorable and this cruise also shows many of the typical characteristics of this region which became famour because of its Metal Camp in Tolmin and also shooting of some Narnia films.

It is also possible for groups to reserve a cruise and make it more thematic, depends of what group you are. For the first time I cruised on this boat around 13 years ago as we made the conclusive trip of the primary school there (and on the other parts of Western Slovenia). It was a wedding of two classmates and both of them had their witnesses to a marriage. As I remember, we all laughed back then very much all the time during that cruise. To conclude, it is surely one of the highlights of the Soča/Isonzo valley region and I recommend this cruise to all of you. Have fun and enjoy there!

It's a really small lake, you don't need a boat to enjoy the view. You can just swim or rent a SUP. The boat honks every time it goes under a bridge. The only honking for miles around, you can hear it throughout the whole town and even up in the mountains. Unnecessary.

This was a really nice boat trip on the Soca river in a paddle boat. The captain and crew are very friendly and multi lingual, the Captain told many stories in at least four languages. I have a picture of my wife steering the boat with the captains hat on. We decided to go North and South and eat. the food was reasonably good but mostly it was good value. less than 40 euros for both of us.

This was a really lovely experience - a good, long boat ride around the river, with lots of detail and stories (captain put us mono-linguists to shame, doing a commentary in Slovenian, Italian and English!), and the kids loved the opportunity to take the wheel, pull the horn and wear the captain's hat! Lunch is highly recommended - the food is great, and there is loads of it. A must-see if you're in the area. Oh, and the toilets are spotless… always a bonus.

Great value for money, even better if you get lunch. Lots of good food and awesome views on both north and south courses. Very relaxed atmosphere.

A family run business, costs 6 euros, travel time 1 hr along the river if you include lunch they take you both north and south of the lake, worth doing as it is then for over 2 hours and the meals are great, plenty to eat. The captain speaks Slovenian, Italian and English and tells a tale about the legend of the creation of the lake, including the princess, a cave, a dragon and a almost happy ending. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip along both ends of the river.

At the beginning we were reluctant to join the tour on Ladja Lucija boat, because it was almost full with school kids.
However, we did join the tour, and it turned out to be a great experience.
The view was very nice. The cruise was peaceful. And most of all- the captain.
He is so charming, happy and friendly.
He takes his job very seriously and makes any effort to explain what we see.
Not only in Slovenian, but also in English especially for us.
It was really an awesome experience. Good for adults and kids. We loved it!!
