A beautiful area that feels like the end of the world. I personally liked it much better than Cape Finisterre because it is quieter and not so crowded.
The surf, the sea, the church, the lighthouse... you can sit here for hours and enjoy the view. Simply beautiful!

Stunning place not to be missed on the Costa da Morte. The sanctuary is beautiful on the outside, especially for its enclave. The interior shows the difficult conservation of these monuments so exposed to the sea.
It is a beautiful place, passing pilgrims to Finisterre.

Magical-religious sanctuary closely linked to the culture of Muxia. A visit is a must, since the entire environment is beautiful and has a lot of character and history. Views 10 of the Touriñan Lighthouse, Monte Cachelmo, etc.
Along a 5' cobbled path we reach Monte Corpiño, which has a panoramic view of Muxia that must be seen. Muxia is the last stage of the Camino de Santiago after going to Finisterrae, so we will see many pilgrims (pagan route).

We stumbled across walking up to the view point in Muxia. So glad we walked across to see it close up. It's a beautifully peaceful place and unusual setting for a church. The stone work is beautiful and vista looking out to sea is beautiful.
Not sure how busy it would normally get but it was not crowded at all when we visited.

Nice place and very emblematic for this area. It was burned some years ago, but perfectly reconstructed and nice. Interesting church de opted to fishermen and sailsmen. A lot of ships models inside the church. Very recommended.

I came to Muxia with a heavy heart. No one, I mean no guidebook ever mention tell me what should I do to close such an amazing chapter. After more than a month of walking on Camino Santiago, I was at a lost at the end of the road. I didn't know how to end the journey. I was sad and depressed, especially all my buddies on the road had flew off, back to where they came from. It's only when I saw the Atlantic Ocean at Muxia, when I heard the sound of splashing waves at Santuario da Virxe da Barca that I finally felt complete. The moment I saw the ocean, I know I had come to the end of Camino, there is nothing left to be done, its time to go home. So if you ever walk the Camino de Santiago, come to Muxia or Fisterra.

The Santuario da Virxe da Barca is a church by the ocean on top of nice rock formations. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place, apart from the rest of the world.
When we visited it was windy and the waves were crashing over the rocks. The ocean is vast and powerful and you do certainly feel it there.
I recommend to visit the sanctuary if you are on a road trip and passing by.

The church is realitvely unimpressive, but there are great views to be found here and rich traditions to which this place is associated, which make it all the more interesting. I hope I can one day come back here during the local festivities.

The magic of this church is its location on the Atlantic coast at Muxia. The views out to sea and of the waves crashing on the rocks are magnificent. There was a major fire in 2013 after a lightning strike which virtually destroyed the whole building. The reconstruction has been sensitively done. The Roderos has not been replaced, instead there is a photographic record of the original. A particular feature are all the models of boats hanging in the church.

Potrei avere ulteriori informazioni in merito? Grazie e buona giornata.
Laura.
