This place is wonderful! The staff are well-informed and welcoming, the garden is beautiful (with informative and well-written signs), and the house is fascinating. My guide told me lots of fascinating facts (eg witch marks), and the day I was there a gentleman was playing the lute in the main chamber. I stayed there for ages, charmed at the lovely music. The tea room is fantastic - I had the best homemade vegetable broth ever, and after my tour enjoyed some lavender sponge. All made on the premises! The ticket (very reasonably priced) allows return visits for a year, so I'll be back!

Hello and thanks for leaving your lovely review. We're so glad you got to enjoy the site during this year's rather short season. We've come to the end of our open season now and of course the National Lockdown is affecting our scheduled events programme, which we're moving to online where possible. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

We took a party of friends in the summertime 2019 it was a glorious sunny day and it was well worth the trip. The people who run the house were amazing we had the best tour round the house and gardens the guild was amazing the knowledge she had was brilliant and we had tea and snacks in the little café well worth a visit.

We enjoyed a great day out at this event. The Manor House has been very well refurbished and the buildings, and so many of the age related contents, are displayed to their best effect. Even in the depth of winter, the staff here have brought the site alive for today’s event. A lot of trouble has been taken to decorate everywhere and “real life” enactors in period costume were very good and helpful in their explanations. We enjoyed turkey cobs and tea in the cafe. Why would anyone NOT visit here? So much to see. Well done to all concerned, and “No”, I have no connections or business interests here!

We'll informed guides brought the house to life. A great recreation of life in the 1620s. Small but well worth a visit.
