First to drive and to get there…. Streets are narrow and parking spots almost none existent. During busy season and in summer, it is EXTREMELY crowded, it is almost impossible to take a photo without the masses….. But it worth the drive, the hassle, and the torture… the views are “almost” majestic…. Weather permits.
Make an effort to reach the view point and take in the marvelous natural area

La Morra is a picturesque village on a hill overlooking the beautiful Piedmontese vineyards. We ate well there, bought some local specialties and enjoyed the view. On the weekend was busy, which is why we parked the car a little below the village and walked up 10 min.

Certainly the most beautiful view of the region from the terrace.
Breathtaking view of all the vineyards and the most famous villages of the Langhe (Grinzane-Cavour, Barolo, etc.). Not to be missed.
A real moment of fullness and calm (few people at the end of July). Do not miss.
If you look closely, you can see the chapel of Sol LeWitt.
NB: terrace a stone's throw from the communal cantina di la Morra (very nice for a tasting)

We made a beeline to La Morra after checking into our hotel. We parked near a school and walked up to the belvedere. The view over the Barolo region was spectacular! It’s best to go in the late afternoon when the sun’s setting. It’s a MUST!

Tour of the Langhe starting from La Morra, passing through Pollenzo, Alba and Barbaresco. Lots of people on Saturdays. Scenic viewpoint that allows you to see vineyards and other crops far and wide, weather permitting. Narrow streets full of wine bars, wine bars and restaurants. Place nice but an hour is enough to go round and round. Difficult to find parking.

We spent 4 nights in beautiful La Morra, and lounging around the the belvedere became our daily ritual after a day of exploring. The most sweeping, panormaic views of the surrounding vineyards and rolling hillls in Piedmont !

After going for a stroll through the local wine shops, pickup a cup of Gelato from “Gelatè” just a 2 minute walk from here, walk to Belvedere to enjoy.
When we arrived the clocktower was closed. However, you don’t need to climb the clocktower to see the beautiful view. This small square is filled with art pieces that appear to have been constructed from clocks and watches. The square offers some of the best views of the hills and vineyards of La Morra. Well worth a trip!

The landscape is a paradise of green hills covered in vineyards, changing with the seasons, but always wonderful: in the autumn mist or the winter snow, it always inspires poetic feelings. Well-worth of its World Heritage title

This is one of our standard stops in La Morra. So when we arrived up the hill this year, we were pleased to see that parking-- the bane of piazze throughout Italy -- has been removed, hardscape redesigned, and a little fountain added. Altogether a lovely improvement, although I do miss the memorial statue. The good news is that nothing was done to diminish the views--from here you can still see forever!

While we were there this time, the plaza was closed off for construction. Not sure how long that will take. We've been there before and it does have a beautiful view.

Ciao! È possibile raggiungere il punto panoramico in vespa? O è pedonale?
Written July 22, 2021

Ciao a tutti!

A presto
