I visited Catedral de Sal in Dec 2017 and I am glad I made the effort. The Xmas lights in Zipaquira central paza were one of the best a town could have and the Sal catedral is quite fascinating. Recommended.

Huge area excavated and really amazing to walk through. Very big on religious iconography but no information on its actual construction. It would have been great to get some facts and figures on the actual tunnel system. The audio guide is all about the religious...More

The Catedral de Sal seems to be on everyone's must see list when they are in Bogota. The Cathedral consists of a series unadorned boxy crosses each representing a station of the cross. The cathedral itself is more of a chapel than a cathedral also...More

The scale of the excavation to make the cathedral is amazing. More of a religious place but I still found it interesting. Fairly touristy with concessions but worth a trip.

If you go Bogota. (Located North suburban Bogota surroundings), this is a must! Impressive, Beautiful, secure and well organized tour of one of the more iconic creations in South America. They don't even use guides any more as they give you an electronic device that...More

The Salt Cathedral is enormous, though it just makes up a small part of the huge salt mine complex. There's really room for a small city there, deep underground. There are also shops selling various things, including emeralds and jewelry.

Touring the underground cathedral is a lifetime experience. Take the guided tour and stay close to the guide to hear the explanations. Then take pictures of what you passed quickly on your way back.

Inside the cathedral is gigantic. If you pass on going in, the are other things to do. There is a zip line and fake rock climbing. The area is scenic. Take a peak at the entrance to gauge how big it actually is if this is... More
