- Efe Hafız T1 contributionThe atmosphere was very nice and beautiful because it was our first time and the venues were very unknown and accidentally the view was beautiful because we drank wine in January the wine came in champagne glass style wine was above the vase!! Anyway, then we went to the cenote, we tried the fruit wines, they were cold and tasted pretty good, we got the grape and grape grapes, we picked up the wines, where the syringe was native wine and the owners of the business were very kind, and then when we went to get normal wine, let's say maybe our own wine was beautiful. They sold us wine from the nearby parking lot, they said they sold us a campaign. Then they came to my empty room. I didn't read and check when I came home.Visited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 23, 2024
- DocReshma150 contributionsif you are visiting Kusadasi/Ephesus, the greek village of Sirence is not to be missed. you will be fascinated by this pretty village with shops and great views and cafes. in spring flowers bloom and and its such a pleasant experience to wander around the cobblestone alleys. Sit down and sip some Turkish tea or Coffee gazing at the amazing vistas. The people are friendly and sell lovely things from hand knitted goods to herbs !Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten April 18, 2024
- Angelika H1 contributionAnyone expecting an old village will be disappointed. Every now and then you see individual derelict houses, otherwise there is not really much evidence of an old village. The "village" is designed purely for tourism. One booth at a time. However, we were there at lunchtime and so many stalls were closed. Likewise, there is a "restaurant" at the other. We liked it anyway, everything is decorated or painted with a lot of love and definitely worth a pretty photo. Also, the sale of the goods cannot be compared to the other bazaars where fake brands are sold. So if you want a souvenir, you should look here. Quite extraordinary I found an old man of flower wreaths for tied on his head. All in all, I would say it depends on what you expect from the place whether you are satisfied or not. I liked it, however I imagined an old village and therefore 2 points deduction, who has been to Avanos understands that.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 28, 2024
- Emilio SandovalMexico City, Mexico1 contributionŞirince Köyü offers a delightful journey back in time, with its historic stone houses and winding cobblestone streets telling stories of yesteryear. Improved roads make access to this hidden gem much easier, inviting travelers on a perfect day trip full of discovery. Local fruit wines stand out, among which pomegranate wine stands out for its unique flavor. It is a testament to Şirince's rich agricultural roots. Peaceful mornings and quiet afternoons are ideal for those seeking solace in the embrace of history and nature. However, while the town's charm is undeniable, some visitors may find the commercialization of the area a little overwhelming. The balance between maintaining the authentic feel of the town and catering to tourists seems to lean slightly towards the latter. This slight departure from authenticity is the only reason I don't give it five stars. Şirince Köyü remains a must-see for those interested in history, wine connoisseurs and anyone who wants to get off the beaten track and enter a world suspended in time.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 16, 2024
- SaraJane88Poulton Le Fylde, United Kingdom56 contributionsWhat a stunning place! First came in 2002 and then again yesterday and it hasn’t lost its charm one bit. If anything it’s gained more over the years. Highly recommend a visit. Taste some of the wines, enjoy some Turkish foods (we had a Turkish breakfast for 5 and the kids loved it) and take in the views and stunning scenery in this magical little village.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 6, 2024

To be honest, I was really looking forward to staying in Sirince based on some reviews. It was a huge disappointment and I wish we hadn't stayed there. The whole place is full of junky tourist shops and vendors lined up all along the cute cobblestone walkways. There were a ton of wine shops selling the sweet wine and a ton of cafe's selling the same Turkish food. The alleyways are packed all day and we finally found a spot at the very top of the hill playing jazz and it was out of the fray of tourists. The place we stayed at reeked of sewage the whole time which didn't help our stay there. It would be good for a quick visit and maybe a bite to eat but that is it.

Şirince is a wonderful place. The place we stayed was incredibly beautiful and very enjoyable. The businesses open around 10/11. If you are an early bird like us, you cannot find an open place to drink tea and have breakfast. Moreover, they say that they close at 19 in the evening. In most places, 90% of the life ends after 7. For your information, the village people should develop.

This village is so picturesque and beautiful!!! it has a very strong Greek element, I especially remember the school which has now become a museum and has many pictures and things of Greeks!! Definitely worth a pass, the famous wines are just wines with various flavored syrups, they didn't impress us, but I had the best pomegranate juice of my life!!

Small historical city with colorful old fashion houses and architecture. Plenty of small handicraft shops . Especially recommend jewelry with Stone Zultamide, which change colours by unique way of different light source.

I visit The Sirince village everytime I come to Turkey and the enjoy having a meal overlooking the green scenery.
Sirince is popular with two things: 1) the rich selection of fruity wines. 2) it is widely known among the Turkish population for being a “holy” site which does not, supposedly, encounter natural disasters.
Sirince is accessible via many routes. You can travel by a local bus from Selcuk Bus Garage, buses from other local towns such as Kusadasi, or you can drive up the mountain as we did this year. If you’re driving , there are two routes that can be taken and both of them start from Selcuk city centre. It can be a little tricky if you aren’t a confident driver as the mountain roads do not always have side barriers on curvy hills. Parking is a reasonable cost and there usually plenty of spaces.
Upon arriving you enter the lower part of the village where you will find many trades people approaching you from all directions inviting you to try their wines etc. This can get a little frustrating. Nonetheless it is free to taste the wine. Whilst there are original village locals situated in Sirince, most traders live in the village purely for business purposes.
As you walk up through the picturesque village you will encounter some cute buildings that have preserved their originality with a taste of modernity.
Be sure to have a meal while in Sirince, most of the restaurants are as good as each other.
There are some churches that you can visit too in the higher part of the village. These churches were constructed and used by the Greeks before exchange of nationals in the 1920’s.
The village can get hot in the summer, however you will find many shade areas for rest.
Overall a great experience. Came here 4 times, will do ao again next time I’m in Turkey.

Nice village but insane on a holiday....cars were banked up for miles down the hill. Paid parking then walk up to the narrow village streets to explore and wander through tourist markets. Totally packed with tourists and locals, was hard to move around.
There are a couple of old churches you can visit whilst there. Avoid on a holiday weekend!!

This is a really lovely small village/town full of character. Lots of souvenir shops, jewellery shops and Turkish coffee shops.
I travelled around Turkey for about 7 days and found the prices here cheapest (for souvenirs and Zultanite) of all the places we visited. Unfortunately, this village was on day 2 of the itinerary and I thought prices would be cheaper at other towns.. and I was wrong. A little regret not buying enough souvenirs and Zultanite.

Sirince is a village up in the mountains about 20 minutes from selcuk ( where Ephesus is) if you have a car it’s up a steep twisty road or you can do a tour . It is an old village with lots of small , steep , stony paths which would be very hard for an old or disabled person to cope with . It seems like the whole village has come together to create a really nice tourist experience so as well as lots of stalls selling surprisingly good quality stuff ( clothes , dolls, carvings , soap , loads of other stuff) there are also very good restaurants and bars too. The place is actually most famous for its wine , which is made from pretty much every fruit you can imagine although to be honest it’s a bit like drinking fruit juice. Although it is for the tourists rather than the locals prices are very reasonable and everyone is friendly and out to make sure you have a good time. The views are stunning and if you get there early enough you can have a really excellent Turkish breakfast for only a couple of pounds.

A wonderful & pretty little village to visit, not far from Kusadasi. We used the Domas (mini bus taxis) to get there, which was affordable, quick & easy. Found locals very helpful always. Sirince is a beautiful, quaint village set on a hillside, overlooking a beautiful valley. Wine tasting, mulberry juice, lovely shops and restaurants all make this a great town to visit.

On 02/09/2024, we decided to stop by when we returned to Istanbul from the Kuşadası vacation, but I saw no jokes. Every place is called a historic place, business, wine shops, jewelry shops, etc. but everybody has trouble getting to come. in no way church etc. ruins you knew were not protected. (I didn't know if it was my church at first). One business said $40 to 1 ball of ice cream. I took the kids away. Plus when you go from the start, your job ends at a maximum of 1 hour.
Note. Parking at the entrance is unlocked. Parking is paid like a pipe.

Hi. Is there a local bus going to Sirince from Selcuk town or Ephesus?
Written November 23, 2019
I don't know. I saw several tourist busses in Sirince, but I don't know where they came from.

I am wondering what the cost of your taxi was? Are the taxi drivers honest? Are there taxis a plenty for you to hire for a ride back to the cruise ship?
Where do you get Liras near the cruise ship?
Written January 9, 2015
Our taxi driver was very good and we agreed the cost before we set off - the journey from our hotel to Ayvalik was 80 Turkish Lira (£22). The taxis wait at the end of the hotel drive. Our driver arranged to pick us up later in the day and he was there waiting at the time we agreed - we paid him for the both journeys back at the hotel so he trusted us to take the return journey with him. He told us lots of history on the way and pointed out points of interest. We thought it was well worth the money, we didn't have to wait for buses, got to meet a very nice local person and got to know a bit about the area as well.
Just about everywhere in Turkey will take Euros and Turkish Lira and most things are priced in both currencies, so taking Euros may be a better option than taking Lira. There are cash machines that you can get Lira from.
Everyone we met in Turkey were really nice and friendly people - you do have to barter through - to get a good price - they expect you to, it is part of their culture so haggle away. When you walk down the street in the town cafe owners call over to you and try to get you to come in - just go with the flow, it's not Britain were everyone is so polite we ignore each other.
