During our last visit to India, we got an opportunity to visit the beautiful little known place "Garoi" located in the district of Jagatsinghapur, which is about 90 km from Puri and about 70 km from Bhubneshwar. The road itself to this peaceful place takes you away from the hectic life of a city. Lush green plantation with long beautiful coconut laden trees on both sides of the road keeps one spellbound. Located on the banks of river Gobari and river Devi, Garoi, is a very small peaceful village, representing a typical old village in Orissa. Aura of the place is very compelling. The energy felt is so positive that the time just slips away. One can go and sit at the shore of the river and witness the mesmerizing sunset. The harmony of the place with nature and the inner peace one feels there is not describable in words.

Those looking for spiritual part of journey in the land of temples can visit a beautiful, magnificent yet simple ashram and temple established by revered Saint “Baba Shri Buddhanath Das” Ji. The beautiful Garoi ashram has Lord Jagannatha temple and also other temples including Shiva and Trishakti temple. The walls of the temples are enriched with elegant and vibrant carved themes depicting heritage and rich culture of Sanatana Dharma. It was a blissful experience to sit and feel the aura of divinity under majestic Banyan tree that bears white figs and to have darshan of Shri Achuyta's idol. A small, concise „visitor’s guide" available in ashram, helps the visitors to view and enjoy all the 18 points of interest at and around the ashram. All the information required before visiting this magnificent ashram and divine place can be read on webpage www.garoiashram.org. A printable version of visitors guide is also available on this website.

The charm and awe of the ashram and temples binds you and compels you to come back as soon as possible. Words could help as a piece of information to visitors but the beauty and divinity of the place can only be experienced, when one visits the place!!

A peaceful, spiritual abode with breathtaking views of rural Odisha, tucked away near the confluence of two rivers, Garoi, offers a rich cultural and a deep spiritual perspective in understanding Orissa and it's people. Some of the important places are the magnificent Jagannath temple, the sacred Banyan tree of Shri Achyutananda Das and the Samadhi of the revered saint Baba Budhanath Das. Every year the ashram at Garoi celebrates Rath Yatra and the appearance day of the revered saint Baba Budhanath Das. Everyday delicious prasad, wherein traditional Oriya meal consisting of rice, preparation with lentils and delicious curries (besara or saaga) are offered to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra in the temple. At around noon devotees can assemble in the courtyard of the temple and partake the delicious prasad as lunch.

There are lot of mismanagement, Local Agents takes money from outsiders and send separate list to Baba (by-passing the genuine ques) , which BABA also accepted leading to mismanagement and corruption. The people who came early morning stands in the ques are sufferer. .
The answers from Baba are very generic , many gullible people believe it but no solution at all as claimed in youtube posting, NO miracle , it is wasting of time.
Baba does not charge any money. at this old age and with ill health he sits from Morning 8AM till evening..
