We drove forward to the main goal - the Vovnushka towers.
The road was blocked by a barrier, you had to pay 150 rubles per person.
The first 100 meters was a good asphalt road, then the primer went for 8 km, on which a caterpillar tractor had previously passed, I had to drive like on a washboard.
The complex consists of 3 towers facing each other on high mountains.
I walked along the gorge between the towers and began to climb the almost sheer slope to the right of them. The stones were constantly crumbling and it was hard to climb.
At some point, I turned around and saw right next to me what seemed to me a wolf.
Most likely it was a wolfdog - a hybrid of a dog and a wolf, because he was not afraid of me, which cannot be said about me. I swung at him with the first thing that came to hand - a wallet, and he ran away.
Went up the hill just above the tower to take pictures from above. From here, an excellent view of the entire tower complex and the slopes of the mountains came off.
It started to rain and I hurried down. From this side of the mountain there was a good path and it was possible to go down quickly.

The towers of Ingushetia are incredible. It's like entering another world. Vovnushki is so unique, as they are two dueling towers built on the top of sharp rock faces. The ancient engineering of it all is incredible. They are also located in a very picturesque location.

The key for foreigners is you MUST have a special border permit to visit Vovnushki and any of the towers in Ingushetia. A local tour operator can secure them for you. DO NOT risk going to the towers without a permit, you will have big problems with the border patrol if you do.

This place is magical! I've never been somewhere so beautiful in my life and has some of the coolest history I've ever heard.
I know that it's a little more difficult to climb up to the best view of this tower but every single second is worth it! I just visited while it was snowing and it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! I can't imagine how beautiful it would look in the spring and the summer surrounded by green fields filled with flowers!
Please make this visit a priority in your time in Ingushetia!

Fully agree with all positive reviews. A must when in Ingushetia!
Just bear in mind though that a road there, from the entrance check-point (RUR 100.00 per head - peanuts) to the towers is actually a rather bumpy dirt track 8-10 kilometers long. While it's guite OK in good weather, you might have all chances to stay there overnight in case of serious rain or a thunderstorm if you don't drive a 4x4. So check weather forecast - and then watch the skies!
