I'd love to recommend to visit the place any time. Even if you go by taxi or take public transportation, please say to a driver to stop for several minutes without hesitating! You will like the place I'm sure! The photos taken in January 27th.

Rivers from the Kochkor region fill this lake, which flows to farming lands. It reaches maximum volume in Spring and the minimum in Autumn. It's a place to find Central Asian camels with two humps. It's a good place for a stop and have a snack and taking pictures if you are travelling to Kochkor from Bishkek or Issyk-Kul.

Stopped for lunch at a place overlooking this reservoir. It is another place of many in this stunning country that is fascinating. It offers another of the many natural features in Kyrgyzstan to dwell on.

This reservoir is simply beautiful in summer when full and blue with fishermen around. Never went down to touch it or to fish but passed by more than 10 times during summer 2017.

Orto-Tokoy reservoir there is not so much to do there but its a nice place to stop and take a rest from the long drive from Karakol to Kochkor or Naryn. The reservoir is huge and a person can see that it use to be much larger in the past.
It was created in 1956. It is located on the Chu River, beyond the village Kochkor. Its length is about 18 km and the volume is more than 4700 million cubic meters.
The main function of the reservoir is irrigation of agricultural land of Chuy region and Southern Kazakhstan. In different places the water changes its color: soft blue, emerald green or almost black.
