We were actually looking for what an old tour link had said was a coffee plantation that offered tours. Needless to say it no longer existed but in our journey of trying to find out where we were, we got referred to an Eco-hotel where we found someone who spoke English. Turns out we were only about 0.5 kms from the ocean at that point and didn't know it. Well worth the drive, although the 1st time we were there the surf was crazy and no one was swimming. The week after was only slightly milder and many were in enjoying the waves

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. We got there as part of a Quad tour from our stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa. The tour was well worth the money to experience this beach and the other activities we did.

The day we went the waves were pretty big but the views were like nothing I've seen before.

This is a must see. Our pictures just DON'T do it justice.

We have been in the DR for 18 months, every chance we get we explore a new beach--this is the best of all! The beauty exceeds words like superlative it is an excellent beach for swimming, not too much wave action. The beach has just the right amount of slope. The road could use some work, but then more people would come, we had only two other groups on a mile long beach

Secret and most Romantic Beach of the country with lots of beauty to offer and some caverns that comes out under this rocks a beautiful lagoon of sweet water that ends to the open beach.

I've been to Samana since 1991 and was naive enough to think roads and infrastructure would be far better when we went 3 weeks ago. I was wrong, it's still a mess and the local and national authorities don't give a hoot. We swam in this beautiful beach during our miserable stay at El Valle Lodge (see my review) and the roads were horrible! Much of the roadways are badly eroded to the point of holes and ruts that are bigger than many cars. You literally have to choose your line and very slowly cross the chasms at various angles. Many roads have no pavement and are dirt and gravel. There's a reason millions of Dominicans have left the country and live elsewhere. The Dominican government steals the nation blind and has plenty to spend on goon cops who stop and harass you for no valid reason, other than getting paid off. But they never have the money to put up road signage or fix the roadways. This area is as bad or worse right now than it was in 1991. It's mostly a catch all for the cheap budget Euro youngsters who can't afford anything better, the same bunch who stay in hostels. But don't let the drab surroundings fool you, the food is quite expensive, even in dumpy food trucks.

The waves at this beach are strong.
It’s a public beach therefore parts of it are not the cleanest.
It’s beautiful though excellent for photos.

We went to El Valle several times already and though it's true that sometimes there is trash in some parts there is a local effort to kerp it clean and there are organized cleaning days wich i think is a good initiative.
There's many activities nature relayed to discover wuth a local guide.
Treck to a small waterfall, horseback riding to a cacao route...ziplinning.

Beautiful beach. We stayed at the Dominican Tree house. Some people biked there but we preferred to walk... about a 30 minute walk but passed through a couple of villages where we were able to say hello to some of the locals. The beach is very uncrowned, mostly fishermen . Ate an awesome lunch at one of the small restaurants that was right on the beach. Recommend.
