We went to Rincon beach with Gregory. He is simply the best guy around for tours around Samana, Dominican Republic. He took care of our food preferences , organizer our trip with great detail, had an open bar , beer before lunch and BBQ chicken / Fish / Lobsters with Rice and Salad. He also took us around in a village and showed us things with great patience. His price is good as well and he gives you one inclusive cost which is better than the resort prices . We highly recommend him .

This was my second time using Gregory Tours and he is amazing. He is accommodating and always make sure safety is first. We booked a Whale Watching Tour and he accommodated boat ride and lunch on private island. Definitely would recommend and also will use him in the future! Thanks Greg!

Visited the DR end of April to early May as a couple (early 20s). We had initially done some online research about excursion company's in the Samana area and thought Gregory's website and prices were attractive. We booked 2 tours online, the El Limon waterfall excursion and the zipline excursion. No online payment was necessary and we were told to pay the day of the excursion. Unfortunately, on the day of our first trip, my girlfriend had food poisoning and was unable to attend. I explained to the driver, Mario, who came to the Cayacoa hotel lobby @ 8:45am the situation and although there was a language barrier, he put me on the phone with another individual and he said that everything is ok. We weren't required to pay anything for canceling which was thoughtful and considerate of the driver and tour company. The second trip was a couple of days later to the Waterfall. Again Mario came to the hotel lobby at 8:45am. It was only me and my girlfriend on this excursion. He drove a couple of minutes before stopping at the side of the road after which Gregory comes after and introduces himself to the tourists who are waiting in the van. He tells you what is in store for the day and then asks for the agreed payment ($180 USD for the zipline tour). There are two zipline excursions in Samana and this was the better of the two because there is an automatic braking system and higher views. The zipline is run by another company and Gregory's tour company is simply the mediator who brings tourists to the zipline company. When we got to the zipline, we were again the only two guests there (not sure if it was off season or just coincident). The zipline was thrilling and the views were spectacular. There are tour guides that accompany and assist you with each zipline (12 in total I believe) and one even offered capture of video of us on our phone. You can ride the zipline as a pair or alone. After the ziplines you go through what is known as treehouse village where guests see a hotel type experience in the treehouses. Mario waits for you at the excursion site and picks you up after the ziplining. We concluded the zipline part of the excursion and were now expecting to go to some beach or swimming area as advertised on the website and as mentioned by Gregory himself when we saw him earlier. Instead, we were driven back to the hotel and it was not even 10:45 yet (less than 2 hours!). Stunned by this, we headed to the resort's beach area where Gregory is supposed to be. Although he wasn't there, we talked to Raymond, who was able to call Gregory and get him to the beach within 20 minutes. We asked why the website advertises the excursion to be 4-6 hours and why we were not taken to the swimming area. He explained that because we were the only ones ziplining the tour was quick to finish but it doesn't seem proper because, excluding the commute, the tour took less than an hour. There was probably some lost in translation which would explain why we weren't taken to the swimming area. We requested a refund or at least a partial refund because Gregory does offer satisfaction guaranteed. As any businessman would, Gregory did not offer us a refund but instead gave us a discount on a future El Limon excursion. We were reluctant because we were already disappointed in Gregory's tour services and just wanted a refund. We are not ones to argue and certainly did not want this experience to ruin our vacation and considering we missed the El Limon excursion a couple of days prior we haggled for a better discount and conceded. We scheduled the El Limon tour the following day. We met with Gregory and Mario on the beach at 9am the following day (instead of the usual hotel lobby). Gregory repeated that all he wants is for us to be happy and satisfied with his services. We were brought to the El Limon excursion site that morning. For this excursion, tourists are given the option to take a horse or walk to the El Limon waterfall. We both chose the horseback option which I strongly recommend as it is a fun experience and walking the trail would be exhausting and dirty considering all the horse poo along the trail. The guides actually own the horse and they bring you and their horse along the trail while showing you fruit along the way. The trail is about 20 minutes by horseback after which you arrive at the beautiful El Limon waterfall. During the beginning of May it had not rained in the past weeks so there was less water flow (only one stream), but it was still a sight to see. Tourists can swim in the fresh water while the horse guides watch over the tourists' belongings. We arrived in the morning but after our swim, many more tourists had arrived and the waterfall started to get crowded. After the swim, you go back on horseback to the starting area. Please tip the guides because they hike with you in hot temperatures and lend you their horses for your leisure. After the El Limon excursion, you are brought to a local cigar rolling shop where you can buy their cigars. Mario concluded the tour by returning us to our hotel and we then paid the discussed excursion price (which we should have done for our first tour). Overall for the tours themselves, I would not recommend the zipline excursion because although the views are spectacular, it is quite overpriced. Ziplining is common in many places and this was not a unique enough experience for me to recommend. I would recommend the El Limon excursion because it is unique to Samana and worthwhile. Gregory has good services (driver, cancellation allowance, online website) but his reputation was tarnished by the misleading and overpriced zipline excursion. Gregory is a businessman so he'll probably offer cheaper future tours instead of giving you refunds. His online prices are relatively cheap but if you do go with him I would ask to pay after the excursion so you know what you paid for.

We travel as a group of 2 couples the second week in April. We booked 3 tours with Gregory online a couple of weeks before we traveled. Gregory was available right up to the time we arrived to answer questions we had. The first tour we booked was the quad tour where we were picked up at the hotel and taken to where we met Gregory. On the tour we went on a 90 km ride where we went though the Samana and area. We stop at a small store for refreshments. Then we continued to ride to Playa Rincon beach where we spent time in the ocean and had a meal of Fish of Chicken. (it was really good) After we finished our meal Gregory took us around to other beaches that the locals use. Gregory was very knowledgeable on the area. Our second tour was the Zip lines. We were again pick up at the hotel first thing in the morning. Gregory took us to the zip lines ( with a stop where we could see how cigars are made and you could purchase local crafts) When we reached the Zip Lines Gregory put us in the capable hands of one of the employees who was just there to look after the 4 of us even thought there was other tour groups travelling at the same time. The zip lines were amazing. Out 3rd tour was at the Cascada El Limon Waterfall. Gregory had set up our guides to make sure that we were looked after and again we were not let down. we rode horse to the falls spend some time swimming there then back down the hill for refreshments that he had arranged ( no complaints again) Gregory even bought us some beverages which was greatly appreciated. I would Highly recommend Gregory to anyone travelling to this area.

Enjoyed the whale watching experience ( 2nd time ). The boat pilot did a great job of staying with the whales. Did a special trip to the national park ( only 4 people ) cost a little more but was worth it, avoided the crowds. The guide was very knowledgeable. Super experience.
