The idea of a retirement home for animals instead of being euthanized is an idea to applaud and here the idea is brought to reality in a big way. The problem just is that on top of the manifestation of the noble idea there's a kind of an amusement park layer. Sure, it's nice to see the ponies walking around in the middle of the people, but that was about it. All the other animals were in pens and in stables and tended to keep their distance from the people. The cat house was an exception with the cats running among the visitors. Still, the animals remained without personality. One cause for this was also that many of the information posters were completely in a wrong place and one couldn't find any information on many animals on the location. A thing that annoyed me was the omnipresent request for donations, both in written and spoken form. I don't mind giving out some money for a good cause, but pushing it too much creates quickly a whiplash reaction. There's a small café also offering small vegetarian/vegan dishes, but I'd skip at least the meals. I understand the money is going for supporting the animals, but I'd prefer having more normal prices on the food and donating some money instead of getting the feeling of being ripped off (the value was just way off). Also, if arriving with a car, parking may be an issue. If the place is really expecting proper amount of visitors, they should expand the parking facilities a bit.
