Can't recommend this tour group enough. Unfortunately the cafe was still closed due to Covid but we did a personalised day trip tour by car which covered a lot of the DMZ route plus Vinh Moc tunnels. We set off from Dong Ha and they dropped us off as arranged in Dong Hoi. Have to say it was one of the highlights of our trip. Tam was very responsive on WhatsApp and we were able to arrange everything with him very quickly - they even picked us up from the station in Dong Ha and brought us to our hotel the day before the trip. Mr Hoa was our guide and as a war Vet knew a reasonable amount about the places and was able to add some interesting details. We were very glad he was there when we did the Vinh Moc tunnels as none of us would have been keen on doing that without such a good guide. If we had more time we would have done a multiday tour with him but we were very impressed with what we managed to get in. Very reasonable pricing and so worth it to have a private guide and just 4 of us on the trip.

Hua was our tour guide when we visited the DMZ. He was fabulous!! Hua provided a lesson in Vietnamese history in relation to the French war and the American war. What made him so superb was that he had a structure and content which was both informative with the right level of detail along with an ability to tell a “story” which made the surroundings come alive and one felt almost transported back to the relevant times and events. He is also a Veteran, so has an excellent mixture of feeling and authenticity along with a challenge to the norms which men who have experienced tragedy seem to have. The level of detail provided was just right. Hua explained the key historical events with real clarity, so as we walked around the museum or DMZ we could understand exactly why the conflict had developed.
Hua really made the area come alive and because of this we felt that we were in one of the most important and significant places of the late 20th Century - both militarily and politically. Hua Is 68 years old, but he is vibrant, humorous, deeply knowledgable and expert in his subject matter and if you get the opportunity to visit the DMZ you must engage him. Hua provided us with one of the real stand out days of our tour - thank you Hua.

We booked DMZ4 tour through the whatsapp number mentioned on their website and everything went very smoothly. Great communication, pick-up was on time and we saw everything. Good one day activity. Our guide Hoa was very friendly and knowledgeable, tour was carefully planned to visit all of the interesting sights. He also helped us buy train tickets to get to Hue afterwards.

I did the DMZ tour, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. My guide was incredibly knowledgeable and had an extensive vocabulary, so I was able to learn a lot more than I initially expected. He was very thorough, and at no point did I feel rushed or forced to do anything/go anywhere that I didn't want to. He also explained some contemporary aspects of Vietnamese life, which I greatly appreciated as well. As this tour is based out of Dong Ha, one is better able to support the community here when doing Tam's tour. He is doing a lot for this town, and I respect that greatly. If you want a full day of an immersive and informative experience, definitely book this one!

Mr Hoa was our guide for the day, he was a star, full of knowledge and a very genuine guy saw some amazing sights and had a belting fried chicken lunch. Mr Hoa was 16 when the war reached feaver pitch and he shared some of his memories of his family fleeing their home. Shared the tour with a lovely Dutch couple, it was a lovely tour. Easy communication with Tam via email.

We booked the DMZ Tour through Tam’s Café. We arranged to be collected from our hotel in Hue and driven up through the DMZ, visiting the border between South and North Vietnam, visiting the Vinh Moc tunnels and enjoying a beachside lunch. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful and we had a wonderful day with him. Highly recommend this tour and it was extremely reasonably priced.

My husband and I had the DMZ2 Tour with Hoa. What a fantastic day we had. Hoa was very knowledgeable and was able to explain things brilliantly. He was also able to answer all of our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and learnt a lot. This has been one of our highlights of our trip and I thoroughly recommend.

Mr. Hoa gave us a tremendous tour and personal insights of the DMZ. He told us both the terrible statistics and the background of each stop along the way. Unless you are an American vet of that war, I recommend the DMZ2 tour. And if you can stand the claustrophobia, take the whole tour of the Vihn Moc tunnels.

I did the "DMZ rider 1" tour. I could organize the tour on a very short notice via Whatsapp with the cafe. The communication was very good.

I enjoyed the tour very much. My driver spoke english well and was basically also my guide. He had a background from both the north and south Vietnamese and could give me many background informations from both perspectives. During the day we stopped, in addition go the official iternary, at different locations at the roadside which have been relevant in the war. This was one of my favorite tours during my stay in Vietnam.

We had an amazing time on our DMZ tour with the best guide ever- Hoa! He took us round all the sights and had some very interesting insights. Definitely an essential experience for anybody visiting Vietnam. Hoa was even kind enough to provide a delicious lunch at his family home. We can’t thank him enough.
