The main thing I like is the cycling from Savannakhet via Bungva Lake to That Ing Hang. It's a nice 45-60 min ride for a strong rider on a single speed bike. But most anyone could manage it in an hour in a half. The...More

Took a tuk tuk ride out to That Ing Hang and was treated to a very nice structure of definite historical significance. Reportably Buddha gave a sermon here once and then rested under a tree, hence the name That Ing Hang.

Travelled here from Savannakhet by scooter via the lake roads, passable but very bumpy at times. We returned via the main road (so did it in a loop) which was much smoother and quicker, albeit less rural and natural. The temple itself isnt anything amazing...More

We came here on scooter together with local friends in the middle of the day. It's a hot spot and there's a delicate sort of atmosphere at the pagoda. It seems very authentic with very little traces of renovations and very tainted by the weather...More

Said to contain a relic of the Buddha, this temple complex is revered by people from both Laos and Thailand. Very quiet but also relatively non-commercial you can feel the atmosphere when you visit. Went by scooter and took about 40 minutes from central Savannakhet.

This very ancient temple is considered the most sacred place in Savannakhet. Locals and visitors come to pay their respect when possible.

People in Savannaketh believe that That Ing Hang houses a relic of Buddha. Unlike most of the temples in Thailand and Cambodia, the main pagoda is not painted which adds more character to the edifice. We were talking in whispers while we were there.

Well am marrried to a issan girl and temples are her life. We popped in past this one and got blessed by the monk. The market stalls out side are cheap if you like buying handmade gifts 20 baht to enter to temple also

Peaceful and relaxing place. Nothing to do just look :) The pagoda is quite big and very old. Watch local people there to understand culture
