There is a boom in saunas and "wellness" institutes in the Netherlands but most in my area around Amsterdam are very commercial. It feels like your visiting a factory. Almere is the complete opposite. Tucked away on the outskirts of Almere this facility is an oasis of tranquillity. It is relatively small but I counted four Finnish saunas, 1 steam room, 1 infra-red room, and a 60 C relax and scrub room. Two jacuzzi's outside, one indoor 1.8 m depth pool, one outdoor pool. Deckchairs for relaxing outside in the garden. The wellness center is connected to the sauna and offers a wide range of massages and beauty treatments. The menu in the restaurant changes frequently - I particularly like their soups. If you're planning a repeat visit note the prices of 5 or 10 visits and the summer specials. Makes a huge difference to the cost. No photos or phones allowed in the sauna or restauarant - this is a naked sauna. Bring your own dressing gown, towel and slippers.

Went here last week after a hard day at work with the husband and we had dinner and sauna for 4 hours.
We also had 1 free entry, total bill for 4 hours EUR 100.00 exactly.
I find Thermen La Mer a bit on the expensive side lately. Enjoyed the berksauna treatment though, really nice

I've been coming here for more than 11 years and am never disappointed. Thermen La Mer is one of NL's smaller saunas (albeit with 2 indoor and 3 outdoor saunas, steam room, indoor and outdoor pools and more) with a cosy atmosphere and a huge garden with lots of sunbeds. They keep on top of upgrades and renovation, and as such the sauna has expanded over the years, but keeps a core clientele.

I enjoy the free loyly's (a sort of guided and very hot sauna experience) and the service in the restaurant is good, with a changing and varied menu to suit all tastes/budgets. You can go for table service or a lighter menu whilst lounging on the indoor recliners. The Wellness side (massage etc.) is also really good - I had a hotstone massage today.

Most people tend to take their own towels, robes etc., but you can hire them there for a fee. The sauna is, for non-Dutch folk, an entirely naked one, but you do have to wear a robe whilst eating in the restaurant area.

Most people come with a friend, but it's equally lovely to come by yourself for a few hours of peace...

This thermen is not hip. It is not the place where all the beauties come to show how perfect they are without clothes. No this is a place where you can simply enjoy a sauna or treatment, where you can relax reading a good book, where you can enjoy the sun in the wonderful garden in the summer, where they serve good food. Just a place to relax alone or as a couple without having the feeling that you have to prove yourself. We love it to go there. Remark: Last weekend they presented a new menu and this was less than expected and we are used to. But that will be improved in the near future, we assume.

and all for a very reasonable price!

Came here on Tuesday after a really busy weekend and did nothing but relax.
Sauna's are big and vary in temperatures which is nice, in and outdoor pool nice and cool, steam room was excellent however some people should respect the SILENCE
Sun was shining, staff were great and the sauna wasn't overly busy.
A bit pricey for Almere but all in all a great, relaxing experience

Lovely sauna facility, nicely landscaped garden, 2 swimming pools, various sauna's, very good restaurant, nice staff. We enjoyed the rituals (opgietingen). If only the wasps would stay away, they made us have our meal inside on a very sunny day.

The facilities, the staff and overall the additional services provided are good. It's not overly busy which makes for an improved experience. The food and the massages are also highly recommended.
