Frederiksborg slot is located in Hillerod, and opened in 1620. It was built as a royal residence for King Christian IV. Opening hours :10am-5pm Tickets: 75DKK It has beautiful garden. In the garden you also find the café which is open in summer.

The drive from Copenhagen to this Slot/castle is through beautiful farm land and worth the drive alone. The best part of the tour for me was the splendor of the throne room with the three silver lions that protect the thrones.

If you want to go to Frederiksberg definitely go see it! But don’t expect to see the castle from the pictures on trip advisor, they’re almost all pictures are Frederiksborg castle not Frederiksberg.

Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find
Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in
itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here
there are several fine theaters, from the experimental
to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which
specializes in transcribing the great London and New
York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several
years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find

It is actually a military facility now - so one can only see the church (if I remenber correctly). The park is nice tough. You can go to Rosenborg Slot instead - this is were the crown jewels are kep.
