I wanted to like this. And coming from Australia I can see (in hindsight) how I would have expected much better conditions from such an affluent and compassionate country such as denmark. The monkey enclosure is appaling. Dirty, overcrowded , tiny, no trees.... It was...More

We enjoyed the visit to this zoo. It was not huge , but was interesting and had some animals we did not usually see in the States.

This has to be the best zoo we have ever visited for it’s size and location. It is easy to get to by bus, metro or train from the centre of Copenhagen and takes about 15 minutes. The enclosures are really well designed, there is...More

I had never seen a Polar bear in real life until I came to this zoo, was very worried about what type of enclosure a polar bear had as it’s so much smaller than what their used to but when I arrived I realised there...More

If you have the Copenhagen Card and a couple of extra hours, this is a great attraction. A zoo that has nice habitats is the best we can expect. Some animals were pacing, but such is the nature of zoos. I was surprised to see...More

We visited on Wednesday and there weren't many visitors so it was very quiet. We saw almost all the animals. It was a very cold day so some of the animals were inside or sheltering but we were patient and managed to see them when...More

Was there in Feb, it was a fantastic zoo and even though there is building work, it didn't ruin the day.

Beginning of the end for zoos? (53 Replies)
After reading what happened today at the Copenhagen zoo I have to wonder how this could affect tourism to the zoo and to Copenhagen this year. This is the time of year people start to plan their summer vacations. And what about all zoos in Europe? The European Association of Zoos sanctioned this. Just go look at the new zoo reviews that have been added today - most of them by people that have never used TripAdvisor before. tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g189541-d24… If TripAdvisor...More

I imagine the imact Will be minimal and most of the 'reviews' Will be removed. I personally don't know enough about why the giraffe was killed to comment but dó feel that if it 'had' to die, feeding it to the Lions was a good thing, much better than just letting the meat go to waste and obvioulsy completely representative of what happens in the wild.
