Vordingborg has created a fantastic place for children and adults to experience the history. You can walk all around the old walls of the fortress and the goosetower in the middle has a very interesting story to tell. Everything is well documented. The place has a museum, giftshop, botanic garden and a cafe.

The goose tower is pretty amazing. It’s worth visiting if you are in the neighborhood. The area around the tower is were the old castle were located. This is a unique, but different experience - see elsewhere. Enjoy!

The story of the Danish king, Valdemar, placing a goose on top of the tower to tell the invading Germans that Danes are not afraid of geese is amazing. Especially when you think that it was done some 650 years ago. Besides the one remaing tower with the goose there are remains of the old wall. Amazing views over the sea from the spot.
