Jesuit-significant baroque structure with late Gothic elements. Unlike other Catholic churches it isn’t part of the “Znojmo skyline” but is situated on the highest point of the city. Established on the former settlement 12th century on the site of an old Pagan building, which 10th century stood in immediate vicinity of the current church. Bombarded by the Hussites the originally Romanesque church underwent several reconstructions (15th century rebuilt in Gothic style and 17th century converted to Baroque style), second half 15th century the late Gothic choir was built which until 1523 consisted of a very complex ogival Star shaped vault. From the same period in the North side the Sepulchre Chapel, the bell tower stands somewhat separately: in 1581 the original tower collapsed on part of the church, 1642 the replacement tower collapsed again on parts of the Church: 1694 reconstruction but in order to avoit further damage the tower was not rebuilt, 1852 it was decided to build a new Bell tower but somewhat seperate and further awayfrom the church. The original Catholic Church from mid 16th century was in 1620 converted to Protestant Church, in 1624 assigned to the Jesuits. Past mid-17th century its main nave was rebuilt. Its Interior from 1642 is mostly early Baroque dominated by the high altar with 1690 painting of the Church patron by Karl dominates Dankwart, who was also involved in the painting works by dutchman J. M. Fiseé (decoration of the arches in the Corpus Christi chapel). In the Church the remains of St. Olympia, Patron Saint and protector against plague and fire, are kept as relics. Nowadays the church belongs to the Roman Catholic sv. Kríže parish.
