    Excellent! Informative, entertaining and enjoyable.
Everything you do on Zanzibar is, unfortunately, normally preceded with the question ‘is it a tourist trap?’ This place struck us as being about as close to the real people of the Island as you can probably get. A warm welcome was followed by a really interesting and informative walk around the farm. We tasted ginger and turmeric dug up directly in front of us, peppercorns collected from the vine where they grow, cinnamon bark taken straight from the tree and all sorts of other spices. Our guide, Adam was brilliant. He is clearly an expert in his field and was funny as well as interesting to listen to. One of the young guys scooted up the coconut palm like it had a ladder on it and sang all the way down. I don’t want to spoil any surprises, we ate a delicious lunch and were shown the spices for sale before we left - feeling like a King and Queen. One criticism is that the spices offered for sale are far too expensive but having only been charged a very reasonable $10 each for the tour and lunch we still bought a couple. All in all, a fantastic value way to spend a couple of supremely enjoyable and relaxing hours.

Great experience with a great guide
Very interesting pleasant couple of hrs spent here. You get to taste the spices and fruit off the plants and trees. Great tour guide who genuinely was interested and enjoyed his job. This cost 10 dollars each which is great for Zanzibar as everything is so expensive. I would totally recommend this tour.

    Great tour 👌
Our visit to SISO Spice Farm with Asaa as our guide was fantastic. We easily reached the farm by taking dala dala number 511 from Stone Town ( next to the Peace Memorial Museum), followed by a short 10-minute walk. Asaa's expertise made the tour informative and enjoyable, as we learned about the spices and their cultural significance. The farm's serene atmosphere and hospitality made it a memorable experience. Highly recommended for a cultural exploration in Zanzibar.

    A cultural enrichment! 🌺
What an experience!! We opted for the complete package: cooking classes, guided tour and lunch on site. The locals were kind from start to finish. The visit with our Guide was a pure pleasure between discovery and laughter! We greatly enjoyed this activity, which we recommend 100%!! Asante Sana!!

    Great experience.Absolutely worth a visit.
Great Spicefarm, 30 minutes drive from Stonetown. Our Guide Adam was incredible with a lot of knowledge an a great humor. It was really fun to listen and we learned so much about different spices which was an amazing experience. One from the team claimed to a coconut tree and we enjoyed the delicious milk, and also some ginger and lemongrass tea. As a present we got some nice crown and ‚jewelry‘ ‚made out of coconut leaves. I can highly recommend Siso Spicefarm.

    Just brilliant!
Well. What can we say about this place. Nothing like what we expected at all! Sadi (we think) was out guide, however we re named him Cheeky Buggar, as that was what he was like. We laughed as we learned all about how spices and fruit grew. Tasted some unusual things and had an all round fabulous time with him and his sidekick. They climbed the coconut tree and we drank the milk fresh a d ate the delicious flesh of the coconut. He mage us ridiculous glasses 🥸 then made us crowns from leaves and hibiscus flower earrings. We bought spices, moisturiser and scent. We were the only ones there so had their full attention. I totally recommend Siso Spice farm. Authentic and mich fun. Thank you boys

    Amazing organic farm
I had a wonderful experience when I visited Siso Farm. Everyone was immediately very kind and friendly. I was a bit nervous because I went alone, but I felt safe the entire time. The cooking class was incredibly interesting, and we had a great meal at the end. We laughed a lot, and they gave us a detailed tour of the farm, explaining all the plants, and I even bought some amazing spices! I can only recommend it, everyone was fantastic!

Wonderful, highly recommend and very reasonable if you book directly. We paid 80 USD for a family of 4 including a 90 min spice/fruit tour. We were there for around 3-4 hours. The cab from our hotel just South of Stonetown (Madinat Al Bahr) was 20 USD arranged through the spice farm too. We sent them a what's app through the number on their website to book and they were very responsive. The costs were:

Spice tour cooking classes lunch usd 15 each
Spice tour with lunch usd 10 each
Spice tour only usd 5 each

We loved it. We were collected by Abu (who is lovely and very knowledgeable, he also taught us a lot of history from Zanzibar).

This was a 10 acre small holding which has a large variety of spices and fruits to see and Abu also expertly explained lots about each of them to us.

At the end we were shown how to climb a coconut tree which was amazing!

The cooking lesson was such fun and the food was delicious. You have to get food too, don't just do the tour!

All of the people were lovely and not pushy. We would gladly go back! Loved it.

If you are interested in visiting a spice farm, this is the place to go! Others charge up to $50/person or even more. I was able to contact Siso directly through WhatsApp. We had a cooking class, spice tour, and lunch, all for $15/person. Round-trip transportation from our hotel was also provided at a very reasonable price.

Adam was our guide. He knew his stuff and explained that he frequently cooks for his family at home. He led the cooking class and had us assist in the process, which was really fun. The whole experience was very relaxed, and after the spice tour we enjoyed the lunch we helped prepare. At no point were they pushy. In fact we were wondering if they even sold spices. Before we left, however, Siso showed us the packaged spices, of which we purchased a considerable amount.

Given the very reasonable prices, make sure to tip your guide and also the coconut man who will no doubt impress you with his climbing skills and his knife skills.

Spice Farm at it's best, very friendly reception, good multilingual explenations, lot's of laughing and lot's of tasting. The live climbing of a coconut palm and then tasting of the fresh juice and flesh was delicious.
But there is one slight minus point: In the end it all came to business, selling spices, additional beatuy products that were extremely expensive, I know this supports the communitiy, but a balm of 20g for 10 dollars is too much.
But as a total, it was worth coming up here to enjoy this tour.

The tour lasts about 1-1.5 hours. Our guide was super nice and very informative. Totally interesting and we were able to try some fruit afterwards.
The farm sells spices right there at a very fair price.
One of them even climbed a palm tree to pick us a fresh coconut.

Overall, a great farm and an absolute MUST on a Zanzibar vacation!

The farm is locally run and provides a nice traditional lunch menu included in the tour.
We have had a tour today and it was an eye-opening experience. We discovered the many spices and trees that are grown in Zanzibar and that normally end up on our tables. Khamis (our guide) was super knowledgeable and fun in explaining facts and curiosities about plants, fruits, spices. Also he showed and offered us tasting of seeds, roots, bark and leaves.
We have had a thrilling demonstration on palm climbing and cocunut picking.
Also we have got given beautiful jewelry and accessories hand made on the spot from palm leaves - origami like. So much talent.

My husband and I had the perfect visit at Siso Spice farm. Our experience was one of kindness and knowledge. We helped with food prep, cutting vegetables and shredding coconut. Our farm tour was very educational regarding the spices and its many uses. One of the a men climbed to the top of the coconut tree, singing the Swalii song Jambo and he made us crowns and jewelry from palms and flowers. After our tour we enjoyed the meal we helped to prepare, Curry, Tuna and rice. The grounds are shaded and very comfortable during the summer heat. We had a wonderful day!!

We had such a great time on the farm. The cooking class was a lot of fun and the food was just amazing and very authentic. Moreover, we really enjoyed the spice tour. Our guide gave us lots of interesting information about the spices and fruits that grow on the farm and we were even allowed to taste everything. We really liked the fact that everything is organic and grows without pesticides. Take some cash with you to buy spices at the end of your tour! We definitely recommend this spice farm!

I had such a fantastic experience. I recommend it to anyone.
A guide from the farm took my daughter and I around the farm to discover cloves, pepper, turmeric, pineapple, ginger, cinnamon, coconut…
Another guide climbed a coconut tree to collect two coconuts and prepared them for us to drink. They were very friendly and opened to questions.

Relaxed and no hassle compared to other Spice Tours. Near to Stone Town - easy drive and park. Good entrance price. Then had Adam as guide and his friend as the tree climber. Very knowledgeable. You then pay them a tip - please make it worth their while - this is there job. No pushy sales. Very relaxed way to spend a morning or a day. Highly recommended
