Another very picturesque central square with some beautiful buildings dotted around. I couldn't give it the full 5-stars as I think there are prettier squares to visit in Cuba but this one does have a small museum and - if you like that sort of thing - many small stalls with handmade souvenirs. In particular, there is a good one with leather products and an artist guy who paints pebbles with a one-hair brush - exquisite.

More restoration has been done in Sancti Spiritus than in some other places that we visited and the park in this large space is most welcoming with trees, garden and seating. Some glorious and often colourful colonial buildings surround the park.

This is a nice place to come at night. There are a lot of locals sitting, talking ..... When we were there there was a power break in the city. It was very dark and magical. When the lights were lighted again it was like the whole town was screaming and applauding.

We got hot walking around town and found this lovely park with benches and shade. School had let out and many children with adults cut through the park on their way home, or they were on motorcycles. Locals, like us, were enjoying the park as well. Theaters, shopping, restaurants, etc surround the park.

The square wasn’t too busy when we visited which was surprising considering the next day was the anniversary of Castro’s death. This is a typical Cuban square with a central raised seating area containing trees and plants. Around the perimeter there are some impressive, interesting and brightly coloured colonial type buildings. The blue coloured church down the road is also worth viewing. A pleasant square to relax and watch the world go by. Worth visiting.
