Via del Asini is a street dating back to the 1300’s. If you’re in Brisighella, it is certainly worth the time to take the short 5 minute walk from one end of the street to the other. Honestly, there’s not much to see other than the ancient wooden beams which are part of its ceiling. But, it is awe inspiring just to think about how long this place has been in existence.

Well worth a visit - old beams above old shops, extremely well preserved, with old pavement. Used to house whole families, together with domestic animals.

Colour changes along the Via as the sun moves. So pretty - don't miss. Good start to the longer walk up to the clock tower.

the actual road used to transport stone from the quarry, it was covered to protect the donkeys, they are homes built into it now...

I think we went on the wrong day. We were there during the week and the street was a ghost town. Mostly residences and a dental office. There were no shops open but maybe because we weren't there on the weekend.

A real bit of local history. The walkway extends at first floor level and is remarkably intact. Full of atmosphere either by day or night and an insight into the particular history linked to the production of gypsum of the town.

This “street” - part of the second story above the Main Street below, was where donkeys were walked between the chalk quarries and town. Quirky.

This beautiful medieval village is a real Italian gem, steeped in history with it's three towers dominating the village. Lots of good restaurants, friendly people and a superb gelateria.

Old alley. Nice place, but everything has been seen quickly. It's worth visiting if you're in Brisighella, but it's not worth coming to Brisighella.
