These are pretty easy caves for young and old to negotiate and depending how long you spend reading the guidebook (£2) on the way. I reckon it’ll take a small path about an hour. It’s a good cave to go through because there are some...More

I first visited here as a kid in the early 80's when it was literally a hole in the ground. However, back then you were guided, coloured lighting being present to maximise the appearance of some of the features. Though like everything today it's become...More

A very interesting visit. The steps down to the caves were made of concrete so were safe and secure, even though there was quite a lot of them the fact that you do the tour at your own pace means that you can stop for a...More

We came on a Sunday at start of half term. There are staffing issues as we waited some time for someone to come and allow us to access the caves. Caves were great and the 6 and 7 year olds in the group loved finding...More

We took our two granddaughters aged 8 & 3 and they both loved it. Spent ages looking at all the different formations & hunting for the fairy doors in our hard hats whilst trying to avoid the trolls (we could hear them though ........ honestly!!)....More

Visited late afternoon during February half term. Stump Cross Caverns is a different kind of show cave where you are your own guide. Visitors are free to roam around the cave at their leisure. As we visited in the last hour before closing we had...More

When we walked into the main area the booth was empty but a cheerful voice said, "I'll be there in a minute". A young lass with long dark hair was very informative and explained what we needed to know and safety in the caverns. She...More

Hi sorry for the delay! I would say not really as you go down a flight of steps to get to the cave and the floor is uneven you have to bend a lot so you don’t bang your head ( you are provided with hard hats) hope that helps. More

No, you can turn up anytime between 10am and 5pm and buy tickets when you arrive. The tour of the cave is self guided so there's no specific time you need to come for. We hope to see you soon!
