We went here in February on a warm but very windy day. It was atmospheric and awesome, highly recommend! However, it is a 600m up hill climb from the car park, no toilets, not suitable for wheelchair users, no cafe but there is a pick nic spot, awesome views and a big yellow bicycle.

such an interesting visit and amazing view, the walks pretty steep to get to it but well worth it. Parking at the bottom in the car park and walking up was very windy and cold when I visited but still was great worth a visit in any weather, the sun dial at the top of the walk ways showing the... Visited over Christmas and the whole of the structure is covered with lights. Does not look much from the car park but persist and walk up to the cut, (head torch needed) and the effect of the lights and the views at night are breathtaking. Hope its on again next Christmas.

We went for a walk up to Coldstones Cut to burn off some Christmas calories. It's not too long a walk from the car park and the pathway has been improved to make access easier and less muddy. They've also put in some steps. Once you are there you can enjoy tremendous views over the Yorkshire countryside, with informative panels... More

A must visit in Nidderdale on a sunny day with spectacular views. Why not do a circular walk from Pateley Bridge up Peat Lane and back via the Lead Mines.

What a lovely place, lived nearby my entire life and never heard if it before. Not recommended on a windy day really but still lovely. We cleaned up after our dog, it's a shame others don't...

What a clever design and great views, on a clear day you can see for miles. It's a quick walk up from the parking lot and you can look right out over the quarry.

A short steep walk from the roadside car park brings you to a magnificent viewing point made of natural stone. On a good day you can see for miles. It is also the site of a working quarry. We found it interesting watching the heavy lorries arriving and departing.

This is an unusual site to visit. It's like a huge piece of art. Good for the views and quiet contemplation. Could be enhanced with a cafe.

Wonderful modern sculpture which doubles as a lookout, but exposed to the elements so be prepared in case of inclement weather. Fantastic views into the adjacent quarry and over the surrounding landscape with excellent information boards and compass highlighting distant features/locations.
