Lovely walk when castle is open. Steep and hilly in places and not suitable for wheelchairs. Pavilion area is fine where the car rally was.

Attended the Charity Open Day. Been a few times over the years. Can't see as much of the gardens as you used to. £3 entry. Bar and coffee etc available. Nice day out if you are passing

Nice easy walk but very short as most of the land is private and can only be accessed by villagers with a permit.

Open space with plenty of space to walk your dog. Peaceful and beautiful countryside within the gates. A lovely place for family walks and picnics or a cool drink across the road in the Glynne Arms. It's worth doing a bit of local historical research...More

Hawarden Castle is just a short, pleasant walk from the library and is worth the walk. You stroll through beautiful gates to a lovely park...

It's s very easy Sunday afternoon stroll around the grounds of Hawarden Castle. Good place to collect conkers, too, whether for playing or for spider deterrents in the corners of rooms.

Fantastic venue for the outdoor Proms in front of the castle, a very rare privilege to be at venue in those grounds. Wonderful atmosphere despite the torrential rain (rechristened Proms in the Ark), plenty of room for picnic paraphernalia, parking nearby.

The Hawarden castle is privately owned and only open to the public twice a year. However, you can walk through the main entrance gates, wander through the parkland and see the castle. This castle was the final resting place for the last Prince Llewelyn of...More

There is free parking at the farm shop. There is a grassed area near the pavilion thst was used for the MG cars on show. Not sure if this is used as a public car park. The castle is only open 3 times a year, is a short walk... More
