We parked up near by and had a walk to get to Ewloe Castle which was hidden within the trees. We had a good look around read all the information and took a moment to imagine time as it would of been.

Ewloe Castle is a very small castle ruin hidden in a forest location. Go to Wepre Park, visitors centre to get a free map and then it is a 30 minute walk over easy terrain and there are some raised walkways near the river. Free...More

A lovely walk through Wepre Park which is only about a mile long and Ewloe Castle will meet you peering through the trees. Time for a sandwich and drink and a slow stroll back taking in the wonderful park.

Whilst the castle is easy to get to, if you are looking for a classic, you will be slightly disappointed. In its day the castle was never a major success and is now largely ruined. One for the enthusiast!

Small parking lot on the road side. Then a 5 or so minute walk into the woods and then the site pops up. Not a whole lot left of the castle but interesting as it is. No signage at all. This is not a level...More

5 minutes walk from the roadside parking, there is a lot more to the castle than the photos suggest, and it’s atmospheric in the woods. Don’t believe cadw’s 10-4 times, it’s really a ‘any reasonable time’ site, and worth stopping
