About
Production and selling of wines and extra virgin olive oil. Tastings and tours in the historical cellar in the castle from the year 1078. We are in the midpoint of Tuscany! Delicious red wines
Jul 2020 • Friends
Very good and reasonably priced wines (our favourite was Il Barbaglione) with helpful host. Would have been nice to have somewhere to sit or been able to see the outdoor space/vineyards surrounding the area, as the wine tasting is done indoors with not much of a view; but overall still a very nice tasting!

Fabulous winery experience

We visited the underground cellars and got a history lesson of a very old winery. Brilliant experience and host. Loved it. Thanks Elena.

A real pleasure to visit
Oct 2019
The on-line booking system was really straightforward and easy to use. We chose the €25 tour, with wine tasting and food, that they do at the weekend. It was all excellent from start to finish. Our guide spoke good English and we had no difficulty understanding her detailed and knowledgable insights into the wine making process. After the tour we sat round a very large wooden table and enjoyed a sampling plate of meat, cheese and bruschetta while tasting 6 wines from the estate. It was an extremely pleasant way to spend a couple of hours and quite a few bottles were purchased to take home!

A fabulous wine tasting
Dec 2018 • Friends
By far the best wine tasting experience we’ve ever done! Helena was a great host (very good English!). She was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, the vineyard and, of course, the wine. The wine was divine and the olive oil was also very nice. We left with some purchases! Would highly recommend it.

Wine Estate with great wines
Sep 2018 • Couples
On top of a hill we visited this whine estate.
The road to this estate is bumpy, to bumpy for our rental Fiat Panda
But the wine was good and tasty

Great Tour, Wine Tasting-Hospitality with Wonderful Views from the Pisan Hills
Sep 2018 • Couples
We wanted to visit a winery for tour/tasting in the Pisan hills near Palaia, so we arranged to go to Usiglian del Vescovo, having found it on the internet. We are glad we did. First of all, leave yourself enough time to drive up there --even with a reliable GPS, the country roads can be windy, and unpaved as you approach the winery. So the trip may take more time than planned on. And reserve your slot ahead of time. The winery lists five or six choices for tastings-we opted for the 1.5 hour tour with exposure to the new production area, and the old cellar where the tastings took place-sampling 6 wines along with a generous portion of meats, cheeses, bread, etc. to go with the wine. Our guide was Elena who was great-knowledgeable, friendly, fluent in English and willing to answer all questions. We were probably with her for close to 2 hours. We purchased wine to take with us and also shipped some home. We were amazed that it was delivered to our house in Texas in only 8 days! While walking between the buildings for the tasting and driving up there and away, we enjoyed the magnificent views of the area. It was a great wine tasting/tour.

Great Winery and Lunch in Tuscany....
Sep 2018 • Friends
Our tour was coordinated by our tour company Rome In Limo. It was LOVELY! Very informative tour and lunch was done just for our group. We had a great tasting (5) wines and traditional Tuscan lunch. Our hostess and tour guide was very gracious and knowledgeable. They were also in the middle of "grape harvest" so they made an exception for our group to even open that day.It was a ADVENTURE driving up to the winery too! Hills and narrow roads...our drivers were excellent!

SIDE NOTE--you will have to walk some STAIRS so be warned. But it was worth it!

Great tour with enthusiastic guide
Sep 2018 • Friends
We booked this tour whilst staying in Palaia and it is about 3 km outside of the village. The tour was really enjoyable and informative and the wine tastings -which we had with a local plate of cheeses, meats and bread - were great. Ilaria our guide spoke excellent English and was excellent sharing lots of information on the vineyard and wines but also giving us time to enjoy the wine. We tried 6 different wines - white, rose and 4 red and enjoyed all and got advice on which would go with the Bistecca de Fiorentina we were cooking that night ( and it wasn't the most expensive). A really enjoyable tour that we would recommend

Wow - what a tour!
May 2018 • Couples
Our hotel, Borgo di Colleoli, recommended this to us - and made a reservation for us. It is set in the hills of Palaia, a little difficult to find, but well worth the visit. Elena gave us a tour of the vineyards and the production area, explaining everything (in perfect English) from the sun and the soil to the harvesting, fermentation and bottling. She then showed us the new, modern cellar and then the old, Etruscan cellar deep into the hillside. The tour concluded with a tasting of their top wines, and a lovely spread of cheeses, bread and salami. We bought two bottles to bring back to the US and will be in touch with our local distributor to bring in more.

Disappointed

We visited today based on the reviews on trip advisor. The lady had no interest in showing us her wine or olive oil. Not worth the journey.
