Space is limited each day to 650 people, but it is well-worth the visit. The site is 5,000 years old, which makes it older than the pyramids. Historians was once believed Newgrange was a passage tomb, but now is believed to be an ancient temple.

What an amazing thing to have the privilege to visit! These burial mounds are fascinating and are just amazing when you consider that they were built 500 years before the pyramids of Giza!

This is the oldest, covered man-made structure on earth. Older than the pyramids. You must go early. Access is only by tour. Tickets sell out very quickly.

I think that this time of year it is 9 am to 7 pm for the visitor's centre. Check their website to be sure. We found it best to get there first thing in the morning.
