Hike through Osum Canyon (July or after)
Aug 2020 • Couples
Ask Kuqo at hotel Kanione how to hike the canyon. He will show you were to go. It takes about 4 to 5 hours and there is no established trail. Be prepared to wade and swim as well (everything will get wet).
Absolutely recommended!

It is a must visit place. It is hard to get there from Berat but absolutely worth it. The best from Albania for us.

The Waterfalls at the Osumi Canyons
Oct 2018
The very same river that crosses the entire city of Berat, has created, along its journey, the wonderful canyons of Osumi in Skrapar, easily accessible from Berat. The canyons are well-known not only because they are the largest in the country, but also for its wonderful flora and the many outdoor activities carried out there. Hiking here warrants magnificent vistas of the many high slopes of vegetation which beautifully separate from the river, or the opportunity to admire the caves as well as the eight spectacular waterfalls.

Horrible and dangerous
Apr 2019 • Family
This year decided to go to see the Canyon and it turned in to a horrible experience.
The wetsuite was dirty and moldy ,once we got on the raft the (two families with kids)the Raftguy" could not understand English...no proper commands and everything was going dangerously wrong,,,,he was so aggressiv where at one point while having a verbal argument with one of the parents,he directly at high speed intentionally hit the canyon walls "showing us how dangerous everything is" where a french 5 year old child almost broke his teeth by flying on the front of the raft. Father of the child and another guy reacted and the Raft guy started swearing and threatening to throw us aboard... the worst nightmare Costumer experience ... totally not ready for group Rafting. The Owner of the hotel made us pay for the van ticket even though we used our own car and so on and on...I have traveled most of the world but never encountered something like this. "Dont Go To Osum".... Dangerous and Intimidating people.

Worth seeing canyon!
Sep 2018 • Couples
When a river breaks through rocks, an interesting natural structure is always created. This river gorge is also very interesting. There are several viewpoints on the route. You can go through the bottom of the canyon or cross the canyon. This is possible depending on the season and water level.

The Bride's hole and the Osum Canyon
Dec 2018 • Couples
There is a wild natyre and one of the biggest canyon in Albania. You can do rafting and explore this hidden gem. For the people that want to do hiking they can go in Tomorri Mountain. There is a place known like The Bride's Hole linked with a story of a bride that was hidden in a hole because she didn't want to get married far away from the family. Also you can explore the Flag Panoramic Loop where you can have a beautiful view of the Canyon and a Waterfall.

Fantastic river hike with a strange yoga part of the day with Albrafting
Aug 2018 • Friends
The Osumi Canyon is an area of outstanding beauty. We did our exploration with Albrafting which organises tours in this area. We would recommend doing a tour with these guys as it is all organised and possibly quite difficult to do without a local.

We did the river hike as a group of 6. We were bunched with lots of other people (perhaps another 15 or so).

We had a pick up from our hotel take us to the starting hotel where we were transferred to another van and signed some standard disclaimers. The drive to the staging area was around 1.5 hours. This area has all the helmets and wetsuits for your trek. The fitting of these items was a little slow (though it might have been the fact that the building is like a greenhouse in the 32 degree weather).

After this you get driven another 10 minutes to the starting point. The hike itself is not long, it was a combination of jumping in the water, wading through waist high currents and also floating. The guide will be careful to show you what you can and cannot do.

Afterwards you are encouraged to do some yoga. This was a strange part of the day - but it did keep us warm. The end point is around a 40 min walk back to the staging area. 20 minutes of which is uphill.

Do wear a pair of wet shoes or old trainers as flip flops or sandals will hurt your feet. Everything will get wet so if you want to take snaps, you'll need to bring a waterproof camera.

Lunch is then provided at a quant little local restaurant - worth the overall package. If you start at 10am - it will pretty much be a full day before you return to the city (6pm-ish)
