MUST TAKE A GUIDE TO KNOW THE PLANTS
Feb 2020
We had a good tour of the Spice Garden- The Spice Route. It is must that you have a Guide to give you information about the various Plants, their utilities and Ayurvedic Value.

The pathway inside the Garden is very uneven and having loose gravels. One must be very careful while walking.

Not recommended in the Rainy Days and very Hot Summer Days

Know your Spices & Herbal Plants
Feb 2020 • Couples
From the Govt. Of Kerla - The Guided tour is informative, gives us knowledge of Ayurveda, refreshing what most of us studied in school ( Medicinal Properties of Plants) or better yet told by our parents and grandparents. Advantages of using Ayurveda - is using it long term. It is not a quick fix. They also have store where you can buy - using a guided menu / flyer.

Good information
Dec 2019
Good place to have information about multiple use cases of trees and plants as per ayurveda. Be cautious while in shop not to fall in trap to buy expensive supplements or medicines unless you are sure. Spices are not that costly but some supplements are.

A good place to know about Ayurveda products
Mar 2018 • Couples
We were given a guide who showed us the plants and herbs used for Ayurveda medicines and spices. It was a good knowledge gaining hour. We were then taken to a shop were we found various Ayurvedic products. We even bought some products to try it out.

Wonderful trip, but a bit touristy
Feb 2018
I did an overnight cruise on a houseboat, floating along the Kerala backwaters. The boat was great: air-conditioned, nice viewing deck in the upper part, great food. I highly recommend it.

We have just returned from a ‘luxury’ houseboat cruise on the ‘backwaters’ with Spice Routes. We booked via Agoda and ALL of the boats on their website were very very different to the huge floating neon monstrosity which we were placed on.

The Spice Routes manager insisted we would still access smaller canals as the boat wasn’t too wide. This was false and we had to be transferred to a tiny little motorboat for 5hrs (with no toilet) to actually see any of the backwaters.

Spice Routes think they are very savvy and take you on a route which looks like you are going to lots of different places, but as we had WiFi we were keeping track of the route on the map and hardly covered any distance at all, even travelling some of the same canals more than once.

The Spice Routes captain on board insisted we would go on backwaters but when we kept asking they stated it would be later. It was only after kicking up a huge fuss did they arrange a small speedboat to take us around.

The photographs on Agoda do not represent the neon lights and huge dining area and lack of any open space other than a narrow balcony. My advice to anyone looking at booking a houseboat, do not book through Agoda, nor book the Spice Routes company. Agoda falsely advertise through their images on their website. Spice Routes did not treat us with respect and lied to us throughout the trip.

I’d review them on Trip Advisor if I could, but I can’t seem to find the company despite seeing them recommended by quite a few people in the forum.

It was a lesson learned for five ladies who wanted some luxury, don’t use Agoda again and do a lot more research before booking. This was not what we would call luxury.

Excellent way to view Kerala, India
Nov 2017 • Friends
As part of a tour group, we sailed the river in Kerala in houseboats. The houseboats were excellent--large rooms, very clean, and the food served aboard was excellent. Overall, a great way to see India. The houseboats are run by Carmeuahavens Hotel & Resorts, No. 27/3057-A Girinagar, Kerala, India.

Please avoid purchasing anything from this place!
May 2017 • Family
We happened to visit this place Monday, 29th May. Unfortunately got carried over by their demo and purchased for over 5K while the same items can be bought for roughly 3K in the market (some items like D-Fat that has a label price of 630/- is sold at MRP here whereas the same can be got at 500/- in the market). Nothing is priced less and we end up paying almost 3 times the price in the market. The handmade soaps with a tag of 60 is sold here for 40 but can be got in the market for 20. So please even if you end up going here with an entrance fee of Rs.100/-, please avoid purchasing anything from here.

relaxing 2 days
Apr 2017 • Friends
We spent 2 great days with Twin Pepper Luxury Cruises. It was just we 2 friends and 3 crew. Despite a bad start - the taxi driver couldn't find the berthing station, the bed was made as a double, not twin, and my dietary problems had not been notified - we thoroughly enjoyed everything. We travelled slowly along waterways, passing villages, observing birds and winding down
