The entry fee of Rs 200 is unjustified, guided tour takes just half an hour, on top of that the total emphasis of the guide is to sell highly overpriced ayurvedic concoctions. In the matter of half an hour the guide would tell you about availability of medicine for blood pressure, sugar, to boost energy, pains basically all day to day health issues. They will emphasize to buy medicine for minimum 3 months to show results without giving up allopathy medicines.

I would recommend you can go to this place n take info about medicinal plants ,but do not fall prey to their tactics of selling expensive medicines... simply waste of money, the lady who explains, later pushes you to buy stuff..the driver may have a cut in the total bill amount, so just visit but do not buy unnecessary medicine which they will suggest you is very good...

Not a spice garden/plantation but rather an a shop for ayurvedic products.
The garden is just a front to lure in unsuspecting tourists and push their ayurvedic products on to them.
Their garden (what was shown to us) is barely a loop of 50mts and the tour of which was barely 5 mins.
Then came the salesmen, whose push was for a better part of half an hour. They push and push their products even if you are not really interested in buying a whole lot.
And beware, most jeep operators seem to have a tie up with them since this is the only place you are brought to if you ask for a spice plantation visit.

Would rather suggest one visits Green Land or the one adjacent to it for a more genuine experience.

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. They are cheat and sell low quality products in the name of Ayurveda medicines. All these medicines have no medicinal quality, are highly priced, and would adversely impact your health. I wish I had the time to take them to consumer forum for cheating people in the name of ayurvedic medicines.

This whole racket works hand in hand with xx% commission to the cab drivers.

First those said you to take entry ticket but I cannot understand for what they are charge? If you said them to go then give you go inside with out ticket. If you want to show spice plant then they also take charge for guid.
Their was a nothing to show in spice garden all are marketing of those various products.
Don't buy any product from here. All product and spices have almost double rate. If you want to buy spices then buy from Thekkady market you got in half price.

Although this is more a demonstration garden (with shop) than a plantation, our group found the tour pleasant and instructive. In clear and well-paced English, our guide gave us a short overview of the spice trade, including which spices had been especially valuable during European colonial days. He stopped at the various plants and showed us the seeds and bark that were processed into spices. We ended at the shop, where we felt no pressure to buy.

I visited the garden. It was very beautiful. There were many medecines which were very useful for me with regard to disease. I received many benefits with regard to my health since past year. My diabetes is controlled with the use of medecines. I purchased various medicines on various problems such as Hair growth, Joint pain, etc. Most of the medicines were useful for me. The spices available here are quite different and of best quality here. Altogether the garden and the management are very good and coorporative.

Tour duration: 45min
Guide : Excellent. We were explained about various spics, herbs and other plants. About their uses and benefits.
Tour: very informative and interesting. You can also purchase good quality spices and other herbal medicines from their shop.
Could have been better: The toilets. They are clean but not very well illuminated.

Only try to sell their overpriced product. We bought some medicine and honey. The honey is not original and cost was also very high.
