For me, the visit to the Sarcofagos de Karajia was not worth it. You walk for about 1 hour downhill, until you get to see the Sarcophagi. They can be seen from a distance of about 50 meters. Nothing more. Little emotion and conflicting feelings....More

It was a really nice walk all the way to the Sarcofagos de Karajia. It has amazing views of the mountains, definitely recommend this attraction.

After a long car and horse ride, we arrived to the Karajia sarcophagus. You can only see them from far aside but it was worth the ride.

We were dreaming to get to this incredible place for months, reading and imagining. And it didn't disappoint! Enchanting spiritual place.

Not too many people ever heard of this place, pity - it's definitely worth seeing, but from the other side maybe it's good, to keep its mystery. For me the most unusual place I have seen on my trip

We visited as part of a full day tour from Chachapoyas which included the Quiocta Caves. Whilst it's not a trip I'd recommend due to the many bone-rattling hours spent on the tour bus the visit to see the sarcophagi is well worthwhile. Personally I'd...More

The drive to Karajia is quite stunning and almost alone justified the cost of a tour. When we arrived in town we contracted with a local to guide our visit to the site for 20 soles ($6). It involved a steady downhill walk of about...More
